San Francisco Steakhouse New Menu @ Tropicana City Mall (Invited Review)

Year end is always filled with warmth and joys, with plenty of shopping and good food to pamper yourself for the hard work you have paid off in the year. But this also means that we are saying bye-bye to 2011, and hi-hi to 2012 with some new resolutions and smiles. San Francisco Steakhouse too, being a cool, hip and happening place for steak lovers is saying HELLO to 2012 with some new exciting flavors.

It is glad to hear that San Francisco Steakhouse is launching a new menu to continue serve diners with quality, simple, casual yet wholesome meals at an affordable price to celebrate the festive seasons and to welcome 2012. The new selection emphasis on sharing so that everyone gets to taste different food at the same time which is an art of eating that is gaining popularity among diners in the country.

The new menu has a corner special for children, and comprises of hearty appetizers, tantalizing ribs and steaks, finger licking lobster, chicken and seafood varieties, not forgetting the sinful desserts and beverages. With good food and drinks coupled with cozy ambience, San Francisco Steakhouse offers a perfect place for you to chill out with friends and family in the coming year.

A menu launching party was held in Tropicana City Mall on 20th of December to introduce some highlights in menu. Started off with the Steak Master XXL cooking demonstration by Chef Shoun Shong that caught the attention of all.

Steak Master XXL

Best known for their charbroiled prime steaks and dedication in providing the finest aged beef. San Francisco Steakhouse continues to escalate diners with the Steak Master XXL where 700gsm of succulent juicy Australian Rib-eye Steak cooked to perfection that will simply blown your mind off.
For those who like seafood, you are welcome to enjoy the culinary journey with the new seafood platter that is huge enough for sharing.
Seafood Platter
In San Francisco Steakhouse, they use dory fish fillet that is coated with flour batter without any eggs added to preserve the taste and crispiness.
The platter is spendidly loaded with fried dory fish fillet, fried prawns, fried mussles, sided with fries, coleslaw and mayonaise as dip.

Ribs Combo With Half Spring Chicken
Scrumptious juicy ribs drizzle with BBQ apple sauce, so good that might even make you lick the bone clean.

The combo comes with a half spring chicken, so it is meant for sharing if you are a small eater. Tasted not bad, but is on the dry side.
Triple Treat
Potato skins, fried mushroom, chicken wings accompanied by fresh cucumber and carrot sticks, thai mayo, sour cream and honey mustard dressing for dipping. A good plate for starter.
Besides steak, poultry and seafood mains, San Francisco also offers pasta lovers with homemade meatballs cooked to perfection, served with spaghetti and tomato concasse. Other favourites including Chicken Bolognese Minced Chicken sautéed with Italian Tomatoes and Herbs, served with spaghetti, and also Escargot Aglio Olio Pasta. For those craving for burger, there is a must-try burger which is the San Francisco’s One Pound Burger with beef grilled to perfection and topped with cheddar cheese. Mouth-watering desserts, range of good wines, liquors and beers are also available for a perfect finish to a great meal.

Thirty-five year old Kelantan-born Executive Chef Shoun Shong with 16 years of experience in the culinary industry, is a veteran in the culinary scene of Kuala Lumpur. His was coming from a generation of family who cooked and ran a restaurant business. His passion for cooking was started during his high school days.
He started off his culinary journey in Humble Beginnings as a Kitchen Help to Sous Chef, and current as Executive Chef in San Francisco Steakhouse. He has worked with renowned industry brands such as Eden Village, Crystal Jade and Nikko Hotel. Besides that, he was also mentored by an experienced French Chef to help him master the art of western cooking in French Restaurant, Spago.
An excellent Chef must have great innovation in cooking. Pasta Seafood Thai, Chicken Mayo Dumpling and warm Chocolate Cake are three of his mastered signature dishes. Besides, he leads the pastry creations for the cakes and dessert counter at San Francisco Steakhouse as well. Another merit which we should give him a big plause is he also has his own recipe book published in Malaysia titled “Shong’s Western Cuisine” published by Famous Cuisine.
Thanks to Executive Chef Shoun Shong and the team who has a quest for excellence in food preparation which demands perfection and authenticity in the culinary offerings, all diners got to taste the tasty food perfect in every way.
Various celebrity Radio DJs’ were also invited to join for the new menu Christmas launching party. Here goes DJ Anson, DJ Ying Ying, DJ Yi Hui and DJ May from Radio 988; DJ Jack Yap, DJ Jane and DJ Wayne Thong from oneFM.
