Pizza Buffet @ Chatz Brasserie, PARKROYAL KL

Take note all pizza lovers! “Mama Mia Pizza” has taken the limelight at Chatz Brasserie , PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur every Thursday to allow diners to customize their very own pizza with wide varieties of toppings and sauces!

Priced at RM49 nett per person, Mama Mia Pizza is a pizza theme buffet inclusive of salad bar, soup and bread. Add on RM3 nett for free flow of soft drinks, RM10 nett for a glass of draft beer and RM35 for a jug of draft beer. Diners can craft as many pizza as they can tuck in, and by the end of the meal, diners can take home a pizza of their choice, with complimentary from Chat Brasserie.

The pizza dough is freshly made in house by the chef, 8 inches in diameter. Add flavour to the dough by first choosing a base sauce to be spread over. Tomato coulis. Cream, peanut, tabasco, or pesto? We still prefer ours to go in traditional way, so tomato coulis would be good but you can always be adventurous by having a peanut spread.

Next, add on some ingredients from the sea, from the land, from the farm or from the garden. Prawn, squid, smoked salmon, fresh salmon, mussel, clam, crab, seabass, dory, tuna and anchovies are available for ‘from the sea’ section.

You can be greedy to pick choices “from the land” such as pepperoni, beef stripes, meatloaf, turkey, chicken, chicken stripes, sliced beef, minced chicken, minced beef, minced lamb, chicken satay, beef and egg.

We found that minced chicken pairs well with smoked salmon from the “sea” section, just a little disappointed when we found that the “egg” choice is a topping of sliced half boiled egg. It would be perfect if the chef crack the whole egg onto the pizza and send it into oven to result in a soft, runny sunny side up.

“From the land” covers a selections of vegetables like onions, garlic, capsicum, mushroom, tomato, zucchini, eggplant, cherry tomato, pineapple, boiled potato, gherkin,,artichoke, black olive, stuffed olive, sun dried tomato, pickled onion, jalapeño and capers. All these not only adds on colours and flavours, but also nutrients to balance up the meaty choices from the “sea” and “land”.

Finally, sprinkle mozzarella, Parmesan, cheddar, Gouda, emmental or blue cheese on top of everything for a melting good, cheesy sensation. Add a dash of basil, oregano, dill or chilli flakes if you want.

If you are luckily enough, you will stumble into a corner brimming with papaya, honeydew, raspberry, mulberry, strawberry and cheery. This means fruit pizza day! Yay and you get the opportunity to make your own pizza with fruits available, together with vanilla, custard or cream cheese base. Complete with icing sugar and cinnamon for a sweet, aromatic touch.

When Thursday working ends, you have more reasons to celebrate the day with good food, because TGIF is near! So, headover to Chatz Brasserie for a fun, delicious Do-It-Yourself meal from 6pm till 10pm.
