2014 Christmas and New Year Buffet @ PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur Hotel

This year, PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur welcomes you and your loved ones to experience “A Family Christmas Affair” with exciting line-up of dining activities to look forward at Chatz Brasseries and the Poolside, and New Year’s Eve Countdown at Klix Lounge.

On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year Eve and New Year, kitchen team at Chatz Brasseries will whip up wide array of delicious delicacies that range from local delights to Chinese, Western, Japanese and more.

Begin the meal with salad, where you can toss you favourite greens with mayo, thousand island sauce, a squeeze of lemon; or, warm up the stomach with seafood chowder soup and seafood soup.

Seafood on ice like fresh oyster, scallop, boiled prawns and salmon, butterfish, and tuna sashimi are on the buffet line too, bringing more joy to seafood lovers to devour in freshness from the sea heartily.

Glad to find our few dim sum choices on PARKROYAL KL Chatz Brasserie buffet such as steamed siew mai, chicken pau and deep fried dumpling brimming with crispiness at the exterior, chewiness of fish paste at the inside.

Christmas Roasted Turkey is definitely the highlights, with condiments and black pepper sauce, mushroom sauce, garlic herb sauce and cranberry sauce to put on a twist of flavour. This year, piquant-apricot sauce is added in generously to enrich the overall flavours.

For local fares, look out for flavourful delighsts such as gulai ikan, siput sedut gulai keladi and sambal prawns. Sambal prawn can easily become the crowd favourite, thanks to its rich, flavour laden sauce, concocted into a balance of sweetness and spiciness. Better if the gravy were drown with more spicy kicks.

Chinese selections cover dishes like Claypot Kung Po Squid, Butter Mantis Prawns, Begger’s Chickan and Sang Ha Noodles. Begger’s Chicken is highly recommended, we like how it is braised till tenderly soft, further enhanced with thick, aromatic gravy infused with herbal goodness.

Indian corners has simple choices including roti canai with dahl gravy, doesn’t put much attention on it initially but Summergirl said the roti canai is as noteworthy as other dishes.

Moving on to the grill section, you can have grilled chicken, grilled fish in banana leaf, grilled sausages, etc.. Grilled chicken chunks are good, juicy and succulent in every munch but for grilled fish, make sure it is not undercooked.

Dessert selection is a combination of Nyonya kuih and Christmas must-haves such as Christmas Pudding, Christmas Stollen, Gingerbread, Christmas Cookies, Fruitcake, Minced Pies and Chocolate Log, just to name a few.
