Wild Honey Pavilion KL, a Singapore -based cafe that has made itself remarkable even before coming into Malaysia. Their two outlets in Scott Square and Mandarin Gallery, Orchard are always in brisk business, considered as one of the most visited Singapore cafes by both locals and tourists since 2009. We have not been to the original shops but judging from the positive reviews found online, we believe their latest opening in Kuala Lumpur will be equally promising.
The first Wild Honey Malaysia is located on Pavilion KL 6th floor, besides Hui Lan Shan Hong Kong Dessert, replacing Spasso Milano Italian Restaurant. Interior appears more like a mid-range restaurant, differ from many of the cafes in this city which are more towards minimalism, white theme, or of rustic and dark steel design.
All-day-breakfast marks the highlight on Wild Honey menu. Extensive selections from the savoury Tunisian Shakshouka (RM35), Barbary Duck Hash with Duck Confit Leg (RM36),Chicken Chop Chop (RM24), Breakfast Burger (RM40) to the sweet – Brittany French Toast Stack (RM24), Beigian Waffles with Coconut Cream (RM24), Canadian Buttermilk Pancakes (RM26) and Sweet Morning Twice Cooked French Toast with Grilled Mango (RM24) and more. More than enough to put you into difficult decision on what to eat. Just 2 pages but big in size, picture-less, filled with food name and description. Our first expression was “wah, so many” once opened up. Hahahahaha. Tempted to try out the savoury but we just had our lunch with friends, so a cake, ice cream and coffee for this time.
Victoria Sponge Cake RM12
Wild Honey Cafe makes their own pastries, cakes and jam. French Lemon /Chocolate & Raspberry/Salted Caramel Tart (RM10), Orange Chiffon Cake (RM14), Classic New York Cheesecake (RM14), Chocolate & Walnut Brownie (RM18), Trio of Scones (RM14) proudly sum up the dessert list. Our Victoria Sponge Cake didn’t disappoint. Texture wasn’t light and airy, more dense with some weight but still fluff, pillow soft. The layers of fresh cream and strawberry jam blends well with it, surprisingly (We aren’t fans of cream on cake). Was aiming on the scones with clotted cream too but hate that our stomach were so full! Already planning on our next trip.
Raspberry Sorbet & Royal Honey RM8
Ordered a scoop of Raspberry Sorbet & Royal Honey because of the words “All Natural Ice Cream” Hahaha. RM8 per scoop for this, and you can opt for strawberry, vanilla, chocolate or salted caramel at RM6 per scoop. Quite reasonable in price though.
Coffee here used beans from Common Man Roasters, a reputable Singapore roaster which has also opened an outlet in VADS TTDI KL back in October. Other than that, Wild Honey also offers a wide choices of tea by TWG, fresh juices, milkshakes, mocktails, wines, cocktails, cold brew and chocolate drink.
