Ru Di Fook Noodle Bar 如狄福 at Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya – Mind you, this latest cafe in Damansara is taking one of the Chinese favourite street food aka wanton mee to a whole new hype, and you’ll probably want to add this place into your must-try list for brunch, lunch or even dinner.

Imagine sitting in a neon-lighted shop sign restaurant surrounded by retro charm, tuck into duck egg wan ton noodles with scallop soup, served in exquisitely designed bowls; finally finish with a cup of coffee in beautiful latte art. A simple meal that easily makes difference. This is what you’ll be getting in Ru Di Fook, partially to be exact, as you’ll be surprised with more than just that as you look through their menu.

One good thing about Ru Di Fook is it is not located along the busiest streets of Kota Damansara. The corner cafe is taking over the previous location of Rebellions Coffee Bar, next to the main road facing The Strand (*where Fifth Palate is). Getting a parking a fairly easy, especially during weekend lunch hour.

Ru Di Fook Noodle Bar covers a delicious list of wanton mee – 鮮蝦干貝云吞面 Scallop Soup Wanton Mee (RM15.80), 蘑菇面 Mushroom Wanton Mee (RM14.80), 南乳炸肉面 Namyu Zhayuk Mee (RM17.80), 柚子烤肉面 Yuzu BBQ Pork Mee (RM16.80), 如狄福燒肉面 RDF Roasted Pork Mee, 雙拼燒肉面 Hou Pak Don Mee (RM17.80), 肉碎面 Minced Meat Mee (RM18.80).

醉雞 The Drunken Chicken RM10.80

Beyond this, what make us more impress is actually their Signature Bites in a mix of classic Chinese and modern Japanese fusion. 梅酒番茄 Umeshu Plum Tomato,  功夫炸蘑菇 Kung Fu Mushroom, 醉雞 The Drunken Chicken, 脆皮午餐肉 Pig in Blanket (*Luncheon meat and cheese wrapped in wanton skin, spicy mango sauce), 香料炸雞翼 Fried Herby Spiced Chicken Wings, 柚子燒肉 Yuzu BBQ Pork, 如狄福燒肉 RDF Roasted Pork, 炸云吞 Fortune Wanton, 水云吞 Wealth Wanton are all noteworthy. Price starts from RM8.80, stop below RM20.

梅酒番茄 Umeshu Plum Tomato RM8.80

We had an order of Hou Pak Don Mee (RM17.80), Umeshu Plum Tomato (RM8.80), Drunken Chicken (RM10.80), Red Apple, Dragonfruit Smooshies (RM10.90) and Cappuccino (RM10.80). Didn’t expect we will enjoy Umeshu Plum Tomato the most. Burst with juicy sweetness, refreshing with hints of plum brandy. Pairing well with noodles.

雙拼燒肉面 Hou Pak Don Mee (RM17.80)

Noodle wise, only dry Hou Pak Dong Mee in traditional black soy sauce was not too bad, especially on the toppings. Pork wanton, kailan, Japanese ajitsuke egg, yuzu BBQ pork and Signature crispy skin roasted pork beautifully laid in generous portion of duck egg noodle. You can top up RM2 to change into rice base with telur bujang (pan fried egg with crispy edges) – the comfort food version.

Cappuccino RM10.80

For coffee, you won’t be disappointed with either cappuccino, latte, mocha, rose latte, hazelnut latte, americano or cold brew, as this is part of their specialization, with excellent “inheritance” from 103 Coffee Workshop, and great barista who just won Battlefield of the Best Pour Latte Art 2017.

Other beverage option to fit in the “bar” of Ru Di Fook is none other but cocktail with creative concoction –  Kyuri Ko No Tsuki, Ru Di Fok Mizuwari, Summer Hawaiian Onglai, Loh Han Guo, Ju Hua Tai. All at RM18.80. Or you can opt for mocktail, beer, specialty tea, chocolate to pair with your noodles.

If you still have room for dessert after your savouries, do check out their “Tim Ban”. Deconstructed Fu Zuk Yi Mai, Gui Ling Gao with Gui Hua Jelly & Goji Berries, Milo Pie, Horlick Banana Crumble, Homemade Vanilla/Horlicks/Thai Green Tea/Hawthorn Gelato – heard that are good.
