Gooddam, The Hub SS2: Italian-Inspired 3-Course Weekend Lunch

Gooddam The Hub SS2, a popular Italian-inspired, local-driven restaurant that is no stranger to the neighbourhood, and beyond. The shopfront may appear just like any other cafes or restaurant around the town, but food here speaks another story.

Sleek and simple design, with bright, high ceiling dining space welcoming us as we pushed the door in on a Sunday afternoon. Cool tone, industrial grey flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows, complemented by wooden furnishings, plants and ornaments that makes us feel relaxing, like dining in a beautifully designed home.

Gooddam is not an ordinary Italian restaurant. Reading through their profile, we learnt that the team takes pride in “new style” of Italian food – one that disparate from the conventional and familiarity of the cuisine, and that is simplicity. “

Chef Daniel Yap, a young and passionate who armed with culinary arts and Italian cuisine background, has been taking extra effort in keeping his dream and philosophy, along with his partner Ms. Miki, who is also a young entrepreneur. Lots of ideas and thoughts, churning out dishes that highlights creative touch while keeping the core essence of Italian flavours. Gooddam’s team loves exploring flavours, using seasonal produce as much as possible in their quarterly changed menu. Currently, Gooddam SS2 offers 5-course dinner, 5-course dinner (vegetarian), 2-course weekend lunch, and 3-course weekend lunch. Affordable price. Set menu available from 5 April til 11 July 2022.

We sampled their latest 3-course Weekend Lunch Menu – Central Italian-inspired, thoughtfully curated right from the complimentary bread served. Love this fresh-from-the oven Tuscan bread, crusty exterior, chewy inside. Great with Timut Pepper Ricotta.

CARPACCIO Hay-Smoked Snapper

BEEF RAGU PACCHERI, Kaffir Lime Gremolata
This is our favourite dish. What we love most about this delicacy is the Kaffir Lime Gremolata – as it adds a citrusy, refreshing taste that cut through just right to the flavourful, comforting pasta with tender, almost melt-in-mouth beef. Highly recommended.

An interpretation of Wild Boar Ragu Papardelle from Tuscany, transformed into Gooddam-style filled ravioli.

For dessert, we had the Father’s Day special alcoholic-infused cannoli. Oh-wow such a lovely Chooclate Guinness Cannoli and Pistachio Rum Cannoli. We don’t mind having another helping of this. And the petit madeleines are lovely too.

The latest Gooddam 5-course Seasonal Dinner menu is also Central Italin-inspired, which explains the selection of Ciccbetti, Tuscan bread with Timut pepper and Salami Coppa from Lazi; Antipasti of Hay-Smoked Snapper Carpaccio and Grilled Scallop that strong represents the area of Marche’s Adriatic Sea, just to name a few. Do check them out if you are up for modern Italian lunch or dinner with your loved ones for anniversary, birthday celebration, proposal, or merely casual dining.
