We paid a visit to Nerovivo last weekend. Located along Jalan Ceylon (next to Bijan Bar & Restaurant, the place for famous fine Malay cuisine), Nerovivo Italian Restaurant is a quiet dining spot, about 10 minutes away from the hustle of KL city centre, surrounded by housing neighbourhoods.
This one storey bungalow-style restaurant is not exceptionally grandeur but set to be cozy yet not lack of elegance for comfortable, relaxed dining. Walls painted in bold purple, adorned with huge paintings; chairs and tables are in dark wooden colour, some covered with white table cloths for colour contrast.
Nerovivo Italian Restaurant houses a wide selections of wines, finely selected from all over the world, all neatly lined up on shelves. House white wines, house red wines, champagne, rose wine, dessert wines, magnum red wines, magnum white wines and other wines from rest of the world to choose from.
Needless to say, Italian food takes the limelight in Nerovivo, ranging from popular pizza and pasta to more exquisite selections such as Black Angus steak tartare, seafood soup in white wine, veal sausages and more.

Never ever leave Nerovivo without trying their classic Italian pizza, it is so delicious that we can a finish one whole 10″ pizza without sharing. Bread is fluffy soft with lots of chews, slightly crispy at the edge, topped with generous amount of ingredients. Our 12″ Italiana pizza falls on creamy, cheesy side, complemented with juiciness from spinach, tangy sweetness from tomato-base pizza sauce. Amazing.

Buffalo mozzarella & tomatoes “caprese” in olive oil, oregano & basil with anchovies, rocket olives & balsamic (RM36)
One of our favourite Italian starters, having mozzarella cheese and sliced tomatoes layered within one another. Pick one of each, then lightly laid them with oregano & basil oil sauce, tuck in to enjoy the wonderful concoction- chewing gum-like texture from mozzarella and refreshing squishiness from tomato.
“Fritto Della Casa” with deep fried squid, prawns, white baby fish, served with dip & lemon sliced RM32 / 56 (starter/sharing)
Addictive deep-fried goodness ideal for sharing. Squid, prawns, white baby fish are battered and deep-fried to golden brown, served with a side of dipping sauce.
Homemade scialatelli al pesto, homemade pasta tossed with basil pesto sauce (RM27)
For pasta, Nerovivo highlights on homemade, from pasta to sauce. Everything is freshly prepared using highest quality of ingredients the restaurant able to source. We love the scialatelli, a type of long, fat strands of noodle, flavoured up with homemade basil pesto sauce that draws a healthy, nutty note.
Creamy homemade gnocchi with rich & tasty gorgonzola sauce & cecina ham (RM39)
Nerovivo homemade gnocchi delivers extra chewy texture very similar to our Chinese Hakka “Suan Pan Zi”, interesting but may not suit everyone’s palate. Hence for diners who wish to keep their choice safe, linguine “pesto & prawns” flammeed with Hokkaido Scallops, Spaghetti Carbonara with Crispy Duck Bacon, Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Grated Smoked Tuna Eggs are the pasta they can go for.
