Clan Dim Sum Restaurant’s Gei Wo Bao (bird nest’s bun 雞窩包) is the very first thing that runs across our mind every time when mentioning about Sri Petaling. And yet, this need to be changed soon, when the coffee fever finally hits this neighbourhood.

103 Coffee Workshop (103工房) along Jalan Radin Bagus, which opened in 28th August 2014,  is going to bring up the third-wave coffee trend in Sri Petaling KL, making it one the hottest hang out spots for friends and family in this area.

This Japanese inspired cafe highlights sleek, trendy industrial design that delivers a match to their shop name, with ample of wooden elements and furnitures of similar tone, soft yellow hue light to exude a warm, cozy environment.

Exposed bricks wall painted in white, high tables and stools, coffee counter, wooden tables and white chairs occupy the first half of the elongated cafe.

While the 103 Coffee Workshop’s inner dining area proves to be more comfy with brown single sofas and round wooden tables, allowing diners to sit back and relax.

Teriyaki Chicken Don RM14.90
Main dishes are still rely on ‘temporary menu’, putting up Japanese delicacies influenced by Western and local touch such as Teriyaki Chicken Don, Karaage Don, Gyuniku Udon, Tanuki Udon, Salmon Tobikko Don, Maneki Onigiri, Daimanzoku, etc. It is enough to cater from breakfast till dinner, all reasonably price less than RM20. Our Teriyaki Chicken Don doesn’t surprise much, decent with sticky, savory sweet Teriyaki sauce rubbed over tender slices of chicken, sided with runny soft spring egg.

Kari Kari Pasta RM3.90
We find this special snack from 103 Coffee Workshop rather addictive, made from deep fried pasta with homemade dressing, drawing a hint of spiciness and herbs aroma in every crispy munch. Ideal for sharing. Personally feel it goes better with a pint of beer instead of coffee.

103 Chocolate Mocha RM10.00
Coffee is prepared using 103 Coffee Workshop house blend – 40% of Brazil Mogiana + 40% of Colombia Inza +20% of Guatamale Antigua blended by ‘M’ Espresso Sporting Club Coffee Roaster. Chocolaty and nutty notes are the focus of this blend, perfect for milk base coffee and pleasant when mixing with other ingredients like hazelnut, caramel and rose.

Flat White Double Shot RM10.00
Apart from hot coffee, there is a wide range of hot tea, smoothies, and Japanaese milk tea and home soda in 103 Coffee Workshop. The long list of Japanese milk tea, including Okinawa milk tea with glass jelly, honey aloe Vera tea, Okinawa matcha milk tea with azure beans, Fuji apple red tea with konyaku jelly are worth trying out.

For hand-brew coffee lovers! Check out the single origin coffee from the Brew bar, done using your choice of aero press, chemex or pour over. Kenya Aa Mtaro Estate (RM18) , Ethopian Yigacheffe Kochere GR 1 (RM18), Colombia Inza, and Beans of Day are among the beans available.
