Madame Waffle @ Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur

Madame Waffle at Level 3, the new upsurge at Mid Valley Megamall!

Magnum Cafe, Tim Ho Wan Hong Kong Michelin Star Dim Sum, Korean Milkcow Soft Serve Ice Cream, the amount of new eateries that blast through Mid Valley Megamall KL in November are beyond our expectations. We’ve heard patrons lined up for hours just for Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum, then hopped over to Milkcow or Magnum for another hour of waits.

Thankfully, Madame Waffle was only half full when we paid them a visit. Located at Level 3 Mezzanie Floor, this quaint little shop is rather hidden upstairs. For direction, look for Magnum Café and take the escalator opposite to it (*beside La Juiceria), Madame Waffle is on your left.

Highlighted as a Japanese quick-style service cafe, Madame Waffle specializes in Liege waffles comes in varieties of flavours, and you can pair them with beverage such as coffee, matcha latte or sodas. Currently, there are seven types of basic waffle to choose from, namely Original, Matcha, Belgian dark chocolate, white chocolate, coffee, honey & cinnamon.

You can also top your waffle with gelato, whipped cream, fruits.

White Chocolate Waffle RM6.90
Freshly baked and served piping hot, our waffle is pleasantly crispy at the outside, accompanied with a faint hint of sweetness; fluffy soft within but not exactly airy, but moist and dense in texture, like pancake. Drizzled with generous amount of white chocolate sauce for more guilty pleasure. After the try, we suggest all to savour their original waffle first, before going to flavoured version.

Coffee here is said to be promising, as reputable barista Chye Yuan Feng, the winner 2013 Aeropress championship is leading the coffee team in Madame Waffle. However, Summergirl is more interested on their Azuki Matcha Latte, priced at RM11.00, served in a Japanese tea cup.

Didn’t put much expectation to the Match Latte but to our surprise, it tasted so good. In contrary to many Matcha latte which always loaded with powdery taste of Matcha, Madame Waffle’s version is rich, smooth and milky, balance in every sip with a faint hint of Azuki beans aroma! Definitely one of the better Matcha Latte Summergirl had tried.

Drink up! There is Azuki red beans at the bottom!

In short, Madame Waffle is recommended as a nice, quiet hang out place after long hours of shopping; while waiting for your movie; or merely a teatime gathering. Service is rather slow during our visit, but staffs are attentive and polite. Forget about the queue at Magnum and Milkcow, perhaps you may consider to indulge in this petite, delicious waffle.
