Four Points by Sheraton Hotel @ Tanjung Bungah, Penang

Mentioning about Penang, Malaysia’s Pearl of Orient, there are lots of things to appreciate from their street food to herritage sites, historical architectures, street murals, shopping malls, cafes and not to forget, the seaside.

Hence, more considerations come in when choosing where to stay in this beautiful island. Guesthouse, inns, or hotels? Finally, we settled down with Four Points by Sheraton Hotels during our November short gateaway to Penang.

Strategic location is one of the reasons we choose Four Points by Sheraton. Conveniently located along the beachfront in Tanjung Bungah, we get an awesome seaview throughout our stay in Penang, and it took us only 25 minutes drive from Penang bridge; 15 minutes to reach Penang Georgetown from the hotel.

Four Point by Sheratons is only one-year-one, one of the latest establishment under Starwood group. Not a skyscraper, tall building, but outstanding for its colourful, cheerful outlook. The interior may not be as grandeur as other luxury hotels under the same brand, but definitely scores for their cutting-edge simplicity, and top notch service.

The hotel welcomes guests with semi-opened lobby, and a charming al-fresco area overlooking the beachfront.

A total of 220 guest rooms and suites, complete with all basic amenities we need to make us feel at home. The Deluxe Rooms and Deluxe Oceanfront Rooms comes with one king-size or double beds, offering Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort Bed wrapped in 250-thread-count linens that allow us to sleep soundly every night. Super comfortable.

Lots of wooden elements blended with warm tones and modern touches to sum up to a calm, yet lively atmosphere. We like the sofa situated next to the huge windows, Summergirl hug those colourful pillows and laid around lazily whole day long, with magnificent views of sea.

Bathroom is spacious too, having separate showers, bathtubs and toilet.

Complimentary bottled water is refresh daily, and we are glad that the staffs send in extra bottles to our room within minutes when we request more. Double thumbs up for the service.

Also, stay connected with a 42-inch LED flat screen TV and free wireless High Speed Internet Access anywhere at the hotel.

Swimming pool.

Gym for workout after indulging delicious meals around Penang Island.

Breakfast is surprisingly good. Choices are more than expected, especially breakfast combinations which fall on healthy side, such as cereal, oatmeal, porridge, yogurt with fruits, etc.

In short, our stay at Four Points by Sheraton Penang is truly satisfying. We really love their bed, so comfy, so soft. Service is no doubt, notably good.
