Butter + Beans At The Row @ Jalan Doraisamy [CLOSED DOWN]

Butter + Beans Cafe seems growing well, as they have branched out new outlets at OUG, Menjalara Kepong and Jalan Doraisamy KL after the first cafe at Seventeen, Happy Mansion PJ. The opening of Butter + Beans at Jalan Doraisamy put smiles on our face, because it will be one of the nearest KL cafes from our staying place. Expect to see us more often there, if the parking allowed, as it is scarce in that area.

Located along Jalan Doraisamy (*the small lane after Sheraton Hotel KL), Butter + Beans at The Row is easily spotted, which is in between Mojo KL and Lima Pulo Nyonya Restaurant. Lovely front door view with spacious interior, moderately decorated to showcase a cozy, modern contemporary atmosphere with raw & rustic touch.

Geometric collage of wood employed for the floorings , further complemented with white coloured walls, huge windows, kitchen-style tiles. Upholstery in white and black stripe on concrete benches, swing-arm-pendant wall lamps, black and lemon colour metal chairs, potted plants, etc. adds on lively elements to the entire cafe.

Butter + Beans at The Row is bigger than we first thought. Discovered a comfy area at the end corner of the cafe when we went to their wash room. Thoughtfully design, with exposed bricks crawling from the floor up to the ceiling, laid with stools supported by sleek, grid of dark metal.

Mocha RM11.70
Menu in all Butter + Beans outlets share the similarity, having coffee as the highlights, accompanied by pastries, cakes, quiche, croissant. Egg benedict? NO. Big breakfast? NO. French toast? NO. Pasta? NO. Not even muesli and simple sandwich. Ideal to drop by after lunch, for teatime or after dinner gathering in case you are cafe hoppers who need a more complete, heavy meal. For just coffee pleasure, visit any time but no guarantee on the parking.

Cappuccino RM10.60
For usual caffeine fix, Butter + Beans has espresso-base coffee like flat white, mocha, latte, cappuccino, piccolo to satisfy.

Mushroom and Ham Quiche RM11.70
Savoury choices are limited to only quiche and pie during out visit. Had a warm mushroom & ham quiche featuring thin, crumbly crust holding soft, creamy egg, texture enhanced with ham bits and sliced mushroom. Found it rather pale in flavours, with faint hint of herbs aroma tangled along.

Peach Danish RM6.40
For sweet danish and bakery treats, select from a variety of peach danish, hazelnut twist, apricot danish, walnut cinnamon roll, pistachio chocolate danish, blueberry danish. Dessert like baked cheesecake, mocha mille crepe, vanilla mille crepe, lavender earl grey mille crepe all look promising too to pair with coffee.

Comments: Have the feeling that coffee back in Butter + Beans at Seventeen PJ tastes much better, but we do like Butter + Beans Jalan Doraisamy for its wider space, homey design. More comfortable, another worth checking out hidden cafe within the hustle and bustle of KL city.
