Palladium Cafe at EcoSky KL: Jay Chou MV Glasshouse Cafe

Palladium Cafe at EcoWorld Galley @ EcoSky KL (Jalan Ipoh) is now opened, daily from 12PM – 9PM! Not too sure if the cafe would be torn down after few months or stayed permanently, so fans of Jay Chou, act fast!

We notice about Palladium Cafe when it first makes its appearance at EcoSpring Show Village, Johor Bahru. Just a month later, there’s news spreading around, saying that second Palladium Cafe will be launched in one of the EcoWorld Gallery Kuala Lumpur. We anticipatedly waiting for the day to arrive, feeling overjoyed as Palladium Cafe announced that 19th December 2015 will be their opening day.

A cute little cartonized house-shape building, standing in the middle of beautiful landscape. Charming facade aside, what makes Palladium Cafe so special is – design of this glass house is inspired from the MV scenes in a song named Handwritten Past 手寫的從前 by famous Taiwanese singer Jay Chou 周杰倫.

So we were here on Christmas Day to have a glance on this “house jump out from the MV” , plus coffee and cake, but certainly not to buy house. LOL. #poorpeoplerenthouse. Palladium Cafe is 95% similar to the glass house we seen from Jay Chou MV.  The only thing missing is smoke from chimney, and Jay Chou sitting at the front of the shop playing guitar, reminiscing the good pak-toh memories. 我看著你的臉 輕刷著和旋~ 初戀是整遍 手寫的從前~

The cafe is much smaller than we though of. Coffee counter, payment counter and dessert counter occupied half of the shop, sectioned by a mini walking path and 3 tables for seating. Expect to have no vacant seats inside most of the time, so just adjourn to the al-fresco dining area. Scorching hot during afternoon, windy during evening time. Plan your visit time.

Latte (RM11)

There’s only coffee and cakes on Palladium Cafe menu. Long black, latte, cappuccino, flat white, piccolo Latte, mocha, affogato for espresso-base beverage (price within RM15), dark chocolate, babycino, picked tea for non-caffeine selections. Less than 10 choices for cakes- Sesame Sponge with White Chocolate Mousse with Milk Chocolat Ganache and Black Sesame Crean (RM13), Earl Grey Flavoured Milk Choclate Mousse layered with Dark Chocolate Flourless Sponge and Raspberry Compote Toppings (RM14), Le Royale Dark Chocolate Mousse with Almond Sponge Cake, Hazelnut Praline (RM14), Berry Cheesecake and so forth.

Snowman Cake (RM16)

To add colours to our Christmas, we ordered Snowman Cake, a limited edition that Palladium Cafe offers only during Christmas till New Year. White chocolate mousse and pistachio mousse, layered with pistachio sponge and cherry sable base. Food and drinks here are by La Casa Cafe.

Remember to take photos with the Angle Wings before you leave the place. It was under construction during our visit hence we miss the photography chance. Happy to see barista Masa-san in Palladium, pulling the perfect shot. Hehe.
