Common Man Coffee Roasters KL @ Plaza Vads, TTDI

Common Man Coffee Roasters from Singapore makes its way to Malaysia last October, setting up a pop-up store in Plaza Vads TTDI KL. We didn’t get to visit that time but heard that response was pretty good, with positive feedbacks for Common Man ‘s special blend, croissant and crullers.

Glad to know that they are back again, officially opened with full-fledged menu and a spacious dining environment. Coffee bar counter as the centrepiece (CMCR is serious about coffee!), occupying a large space with thoughtfully designed surroundings. Clever blends of wooden elements, patterned cushion seats and pillows, darker shade theme colours, geomeric metal furnishing, and a touch of greenery at the entrance. Cozy but towards upscale cafe-style, photography worthy from the moment you step in.

Currently, Common Man Coffee Roaster KL menu consists about 20 dishes, food price range from RM20 onwards. Not a cafe we can afford to visit frequently, but definitely a beautiful brunch spot with remarkable dishes. Love the plates they are using!

Checked out CMCR with one of our blogger friends last week. We set the meet up time at 9AM, expected to see a crowded scene but thankfully, there was still a table near to window by the time we reached #SoHappy. Actually, there are plenty of seats available so you can sleep in a bit, and try out their lunch menu which starts from 11AM onwards. Do not need to queue for an hour like in Breakfast Thieves Bangsar KL.

Common Man Full Breakfast RM39

Eyed on Housemade Crunchy Granola, Fluffy Brioche French Toast and Common Man Fluffy Pancakes (so greedy hahahahaha) and more but since there was only 3 of us, we decided to share 2 dishes together.

Luckily we ordered only two mains. The portion is so huge. Common Man Full Breakfast can easily feeds two with free-range organic eggs in sunny side up style, streaky beef, smoked chicken sausage, confit herbed tomato, vegetable rosti, minted sour cream, wild mushrooms and honey rye bread. Full-flavour smoked chicken sausages were on point. LIKE.

Sauteed Kale & Egg White Scramble RM29 + Chicken RM10

Thought of getting Common Man Veggie Wonderland initially but upon suggestion by one of the pretty staffs, we ended up with Sauteed Kale & Egg White Scramble. Hahaha. It serves more like a salad, gathering healthy greens including kale, sweet pea, asparagus in one plate, topped with parmesan cheese and lemon zest crumbs. Add grilled chicken at RM10, prawns at RM12. We had grilled chicken, satisfying as it was packed with moist, flavoured up with spices, mild spicy aftertaste. #NotUsualBoringDryChickenBreast

Fries RM16

Couldn’t help but to add extra not-so-healthy side dish for breakfast as it looks really good when we browsed through Common Man Coffee Roasters check-ins photos on Instagram. Hand cut potatoes and sweet potato fries don’t seem special, but with light cheese sauce and spicy crab oil coming together, it is noteworthy. Chilli sauce, step aside.

White (Cappuccino/ Flat White/ Latte) RM12

For beverage, coffee is a must to us. Other options include freshly squeeze juices, smoothies, artisan teas. Cold Brew is also available, and you may ask their friendly staffs more about filtered coffee and UnCommon selection. Indulge into famous sugar dusted KL Churros with chocolate sauce and premium vanilla ice cream if you still had room for desserts.
