2OX French Bistro @ The Row, KL: Affordable Afternoon Tea Set

2OX French Bistro The Row KL is serving Afternoon Tea Set at the price of RM60++ every weekend, 2.30PM – 5.30PM.

Can’t remember when was the last time we had high tea but if our memory served us right, most afternoon tea(s) we had were expensive, Tai Tai-lifestyle that we can’t afford that frequent.

Glad to come across Afternoon Tea Set menu at 2OX French Bistro at The Row Kuala Lumpur, which is priced at only RM60++ for two, inclusive of coffee or tea! So much cheaper than many Tea Set out there. Plus, 2OX is managed by the team behind one of the best French Restaurant in KL – Maison Franchaise, hence we believe the quality will not disappoint.

Visited the restaurant last Sunday, and ordered tea set for 6. So much food! Certainly enough to feed 6 of us. 2OX Afternoon Tea Set is served in 2-tiers style, with lower tier putting together savoury selections including Foccacia with Trio of Spreads, Chicken Club Sandwich, and Scrambled Egg with Fine Herbs & Grilled Salmon.

While for upper tier, is always sweet treats including Scones with Butter & Jam, Lemon Madeleines, Chocolate Coated Strawberries, Mini Dark Chocolate Pound Cake, Meringue Lemon Tart and a side of Pain Au Chocolat.

Started from the bottom – Our favourite was Scrambled Egg with Fine Herbs & Grilled Salmon. Fluff and moist, almost the perfect scrambled egg. Further flavoured up with salmon bits. Place it on big breakfast platter and we’re sure that it will earn plenty of praises.

Dessert wise, Summergirl enjoyed the Meringue Lemon Tart. Bite size, crumbly pastry nestled with tangy lemon filling, topped with torched meringue. Sweet and sour concoction, great with tea. Scones still has room of improvements but a spread of jam and butter over it still alright to complement the overall texture.

Didn’t put much expectation over the petite croissant and Pain Au Chocolat initially but to our surprise, so good! Shatter-crisp exterior, buttery layers, filled with delicious chocolate.

We could hardly finish everything. Recommended for diners looking for non-hotel, casual high tea session. Love this place is because despite the high tea price, the team doesn’t compromise on the quality. Much better than our expectation. Their Scrambled Egg with Herbs & Grilled Salmon, superb croissant and pain au Chocolat say it all.
