[CLOSED DOWN] Thai Hou Sek New Menu, Pavilion KL: Thai-Chinese Porky Delights

February 17, 2019 by summerkid_summergirl

*Update as of Aug 2018, Thai Hou Sek at Pavilion KL has closed down now*

Siu Yuk Fried Rice, Garlic Pork Ribs, Spicy Pork Belly, Bitterguord Luncheon Meat Omelette, Nam Tok Siu Yuk, Pad Kra Pao Kung, Thai Grilled Pork Neck Salad, BKK Braised Pork Noodles, Red Ginger Fried Chicken, etc. – Just the food names are intrigued enough to make us pay Thai Hou Sek a visit, and probably to you too.

Thai Hou Sek

Specializes in Thai-Chinese cuisine with pork delicacies taking the limelight,  says – Siu Yuk, Grilled Pork Neck and Braised Pork, Thai Hou Sek sets to make a difference from the usual Thai restaurants in KL, putting together plenty of creative fusion twist, beyond the usual bold flavours of Thai food to delight your taste buds at affordable price.

You can spot them at few of the major shopping malls in KL now – Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Mid Valley Megamall, One Utama Shopping Center and also Arkadia Desa Park City, one of the latest lifestyle hubs for shopping, dinning and entertainment in the city.

Thai Hou Sek

Siu Yuk Fried Rice RM19.00

To keep the innovative approach on going, Thai Hou Sek has recently launched their revamped menu, introducing delicious new items while keeping some of the best sellers to fix your craving whenever you are here, such as this Siu Yuk Fried Rice –  the evergreen single plate dish that Thai Hou Sek prides at.

Thai Hou Sek

Flavours laden wok-fried rice coupled with tender bites of roasted pork, crispy cracking skin, and golden deep fried pork lard – get the best of both worlds in one mouthful.

Thai Hou Sek

Stir Fried Baby Kailan with Siu Yuk RM17

Other than in fried rice, Thai Hou Sek also expands their siu yuk reportoire in dishes like Siu Yuk Petai Mee Hoon, Siu Yuk Pad Thai, Siu Yuk, Pork Shoulder Meat & Pork Balls Green Curry and Stir Fried Baby Kailan with Siu Yuk.

Thai Hou Sek

Tom Sapp Pork Ribs Soup RM23.50

Thai Hou Sek

Tom Sapp Pork Ribs Soup, reminds us about the Spicy Pork Bone Soup we had in Bangkok Train Night Market last year. Thai Hou Sek version is cooked with fresh lemongrass, chilli and kaffir lime leaves. More sourish and less spicy, but equally appetizing.

Thai Hou Sek

Garlic Pork Ribs RM23.50

Thai Hou Sek

More porky dishes making an appearance on our table as our dinner goes on. And this new-to-the-menu Garlic Pork Ribs is quite good, served with mango salad that pairs right to give a refreshing touch in between meaty bites. Stick to the original, or dip with spicy dark sauce & lime chilli sauce for more spicy-tangy kick. We love both.

Thai Hou Sek

Spicy Pork Belly RM19.00

Thai Hou Sek

Pad Kra Pao Eggplant RM18.00

Pad Kra Pao – Thai famous street food that goes well with almost everything, from plain white rice to vegetables, tofu and noodles. Like our Chinese minced meat but flavours further enhanced with basil leaves and chillies. We enjoyed this Pad Kra Pao Eggplant at Thai Hou Sek, so flavourful we can literally finish a bowlful of rice with just this.

Thai Hou Sek

Squid with Hot Basil RM23.50

Other that meaty goodness, seafood plays a significant part on Thai Hou Sek new menu too. Afterall a sumptuous Thai-inspired meal is incomplete without seafood isn’t it? Check out specially prepared seafood choices from the chef, including 4 Heavenly King with Prawns, Crab Meat Omelette, Cray-sea Tom Yum Hot Pot, Squid with Hot Basil, Squid in Spicy Lime Sauce, Steamed Fish & Clams in Spicy Lime Sauce, just to name a few.

Thai Hou Sek

Drunken Pasta RM21.00

Summergirl’s favourite, also known as Pad Kee Mao. Spaghetti stir-fried with mussels, squid, prawns, mushroom, dried chilli, basil and peppercorn. Acquired taste that is worth a try if you love the pepper-ish of peppercorn combined with robust flavours of basil leaves.

Wash down our food with Thai Coconut Shake and Pick-me-up Fruit Tea recommended by the staff. Other options include Thai Hou Yum, Assamboi Lemongrass, Coconut Lychee, Mango Basil, Minty Lychee Tea, juices and more.

*Our dinner was at Thai Hou Sek Pavilion KL. The menu might be slightly different for other outlets.
