Pause Cafe KL Jalan Choo Cheng Khay, Kampung Attap

Pause Cafe KL Jalan Choo Cheng Khay KL is now opened, next to Taste of Love 愛の味.

When one of our favourite lunch spots – MainMain Cafe at Kampung Attap, Jalan Choo Cheng Kay decided to call an end to their business few years ago, Taste of Love 愛の味 took over the place, and continue to share the love of home-cooked food, churning out delicious dishes like Lala La Mian, Nasi Lemak, Otak-otak Spaghetti, Homemade Cheesecake and more.

Then last weekend, we gladly found a new cafe, PAUSE//, opened next to Taste of Love! Hopped in and greeted by a bright white, minimalism interior, lightly adorned with potted plants, neon signs, framed pictures, chic ceiling lamps, etc. to liven up the entire place.

Managed by a friendly team of coffee enthusiasts, Pause Cafe Kampung Attap aims to provide a space for busy city people to slow down, enjoy life while sipping on handcrafted coffee, brewed using finely selected beans.

Pause Cafe Kuala Lumpur food menu aren’t extensive, but rest assured, satisfying with delicious Asian and Western choices including Pork Lard Rice, Spaghetti Bolognese, Liguine Carbonara, Prawn Aglio Olio, Ginger Spring Onion Pork Rice, Hua Diao Chicken Rice, Stir Fried Spicy Chicken Rice .

Tried Pork Lard Rice, our all time favourite comfort food. for the price at RM12, we were expecting a mini rice bowl but to our surprise, we were served a large bowl of rice, topped with generous amount of minced meat and our top favourite- golden, crunchy zhu yao zhar aka deep fried pork lard. Added with an onsen egg too!

Definitely a satisfying one!

Bread for Summergirl, as usual. RM6.50 for a set of freshly toasted bread, sided with butter, kaya and two soft boiled egg. Love how it was toasted to just right – crispy outside, fluffy inside, not dry.  Main dishes are served after 12PM, so if you are early, give this a try.

Ordered extra Sweet Potato Fries  RM12 as snack to nibble on.

For drinks, apart from filter coffee, coffee in white and black that Pause Jalan Choo Cheng Khay takes prides in, diners can also opt for matcha, houjicha and genmaicha from Niko Neko Matcha, West Java Chocolate, juices, sodas, tea and classic iced lemon tea or honey lemon.

Overall, a nice place to sit down, chill and relax over good food and coffee. Really loved their Pork Lard Rice and Morning Toast. Gonna come back just for these, maybe Hua Diao Chicken Rice too.
