McDonald’s Malaysia All-New Portuguese Chicken Burger

After the beloved Spicy Korean Burger, McDonald’s Malaysia is now bringing Malaysians on a gastronomic journey to yet another part of the world – Introducing the brand new Portuguese Chicken Burger!

Available only for a limited time, McDonald’s Malaysia Portuguese Chicken Burger features a fried chicken patty dipped in a specially prepared piri-piri sauce, then layered with fresh lettuce, mixed vegetables and sandwiched between two fluffy and soft chilli flake bun.

The chicken patty features a thick cut of meat that’s lightly crisp on the outside, and juicy, yet meaty, on the inside! Love how there’s a burst of flavour with every bite, especially with the mildly spicy, and smoky piri-piri sauce that comes out just right.

Might be a bit messy in look but oh-so-good.

Inspired by the sights, sounds and flavours of Portugal, this Portuguese Chicken Burger is also the second menu item to be introduced as part of McDonald’s Malaysia’s “Discover the World 2019” campaign.

“Over the years, we’ve taken our customers on an exciting taste adventures to countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Korea and Thailand, by infusing their unique flavours into our menu items here in Malaysia through our Discover the World campaign. This round, we’re taking it up a notch with the all-new Portuguese Chicken Burger that offers its very own piri-piri sauce,” says Eugene Lee, Marketing Director, McDonald’s Malaysia.

“When it comes to innovative menu items, McDonald’s always strives to delight and surprise customers with new explosive flavours, and this burger will definitely offer a taste experience that is unlike anything we have introduced before,” Eugene added.

The Portuguese Chicken Burger set meal is served with French Fries and either a Fanta Grape McFreeze or regular coke. It is priced from RM16.99 and available in all McDonald’s restaurants in Malaysia while stocks last.

In conjunction with the launch of McDonald’s Portuguese Chicken Burger, we managed to watch a lovely traditional Portuguese dance, by performers all the way from Melaka.

To add more excitement, McDonald’s Malaysia has introduced Catching Nonando – an Augmented Reality game where diners would have to “catch” as many Nonando Chickens as possible in 60 seconds to collect points. You would be instantly rewarded with discounts on Portuguese Chicken Burger, depending on how many Nonandos you catch.
