Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur hotel staycation. Felt so blessed to check-in to a room directly facing the KLCC view, enjoyed wholesome BBQ dinner at Poolhouse, started the day with hearty breakfast and afternoon tea with unlimited Wellington at THIRTY8 – accompanied by beautiful KL city skyline too!
Have not been to any hotel staycation for months due to busy working schedule. We are so happy to finally have the opportunity to get out and about in style again with an amazing staycation at one of the best 5-star hotels in KL – Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.
Located just few minutes walk from KLCC Convention Center, Suria KLCC Mall, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and malls in Bukit Bintang, Grand Hyatt is definitely an ideal choice for business corporate stay, for individual traveller or merely for a chill & relax weekend.
What’s best? The spectacular view of the iconic KLCC that you can enjoy from various angles around the hotel – be it at the infamous THIRTY8, swimming pool, lobby level, or from your hotel room if you pick the guestroom with Tower View.
For us, we chose the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur’s 2 Twin Beds with Tower View. Spacious 47 sqm room overlooking Petronas Twin Towers, furnished with twin beds, sofas, work desk and bathroom with LCG cube adjustable for privacy setting. Also, Summerkid’s favorite bathtub!
We love how well the room is being partitioned for different purposes. There’s a private changing room with giant mirror, in-room safe, iron and iron board, upholstered bench, etc. right after the door; followed by washroom, dressing area, bathroom, before welcoming us to the rest area with extra comfy bed directly facing the KLCC tower.
It is not partial view, but view of both the towers!
As the room is booked from Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur’s official website under the Weekend BBQ Staycation package, we get a change to check out Green’s BBQ at Poolhouse, featuring signature dishes by Chef Daniel.
Poolhouse is designed in glasshouse concept, with an al fresco terrace facing Grand Hyatt’s Kuala Lumpur swimming pool and surrounded by tropical greenery. What’s worthwhile about Green’s BBQ is – the dinner features a variety of all-you-can-eat sustainably sourced proteins, free-range eggs, homegrown greens, guilt free dessert, juices, etc..
From Turmeric Sweet Potato Hummus to Smokey Eggplant Baba Ganoush, Miso Glazed Tofu, Barramundi Ceviche, Wok-fried Cauliflower Rice, Wok-fried Barley & Buckwheat, Roasted Cherry Tomato, Smoked Paprika Roasted Cauliflower, Gojuchang Spicy Baby Potato – we can really see the effort of the team in introducing healthier, wholesome dishes without compromising the good taste.
Protein is served in Grill & Skewers Style. Salmon Steak with Lemon Gill & Soft Herb, Lamb Chop, Black Mussel with Tomato Sambal, Corn on the Cob with Smoked Paprika Rub, Chicken with Spicy Soya Honey Glaze, Prawn in Shell, Beed Sirloin, Miso Ginger Glazed Tofu. Try all for the first order, pick what you like, and repeat the order. Hehe.
Round up our meal with desserts including Coconut & Mango, Gluten Free Orang Poun Cake, Key Lime Cheesecake, Berries Parfait, Cinnamon Pumpkin Tart, locally sourced seasonal fruits. Homemade ice cream & sorbet are must-have too. We tried almost each flavour – Avocado Chia Seed, Keto Coconut, Strawberry, Sugar-free chocolate dates, mango passion fruit, peanut.

Rise and shine.
Hotel breakfast is the “activity” that Summerkid look forward to the most in a staycation. Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur doesn’t disappoint. In fact, it is our top favorite for KL hotel breakfast thus far.
And again, we realize they also incorporate some healthy options on their menu. For example, kombucha by Wonderbrew.
Went for a walk around the hotel after breakfast. Lovely morning stroll at the swimming pool.

Check-out. How we wish we could stay longer.
Before leaving the hotel, we tried out Wellington Afternoon Tea Semi-Buffet at THIRTY8. It is available only on Sunday. Since we were already there, so why not?
Unlimited serving of special Wellington dish takes centerstage, along with fresh seafood, sweet treats, Chinese dim sum, Japanese sushi and a 3-tier desserts served to your table.
Australia Gras Fed Black Angus Beef Tenderloin, mushroom duxelles, herbs crepes, puff pastry – lovely flavours all in one-go. One serving is never enough. There’s also Sustainable Atlantic Salmon Wellington offered during our visit.
Drinks are included in the Wellington Afternoon Tea too. You can get coffee, kombucha, non-alcoholic cooler drinks (self-service). If you would like to pair your meal with something boozy, upgrade to Premium Package or Grand Package for free-flow of beer, wine, prosecco, depends on the package you choose. We really miss the Espresso Yuzu Fizzy that we got from the table side service. Not sure if re-order is allowed for this special beverage, because the cart has disappeared when we wanted to request for another 2 glasses. Hahaha.
Personally, we recommended the Beef Wellington, Salmon Wellington, Lobster Bisque, Oyster, Deep-fried Chinese Dim Sum and Homemade Sourdough.

Overall, we had a wonderful staycation at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. Friendly service, helpful staffs, great food quality, not to forget the breathtaking KL city skyline that accompanied us for a memorable 24 hours. Lol. Hope to check out more of their offerings in near future.
