Pride as one of the best luxury 5-star hotels in KL, Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur is an urban oasis in the midst of a bustling city – a haven of elegance, comfort, retreat and sophistication.

Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur Afternoon Tea Set

Apart from offering 55 elegant rooms and suites for luxurious stay, Banyan Tree Kuala is also home to a few reputable restaurants in the city with amazing city skyline. That includes Altitude, VERTIGO TOO, and Horizon Grill Restaurant. Not to forget, renowned Banyan Tree Spa that highlights traditional Asian healing therapies to renew your physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.

Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur Afternoon Tea Set

We first visited Altitude for Afternoon Tea, and Horizon Grill for the Extraordinary Menu that features some of the most celebrated dishes on the establishment’s menu. Return again for the third time last week, this round for a short getaway.

“Salam Sejahtera”.

Upon reaching the lobby at 53rd floor, we were warmthly greeted by the hotel staff, along with refreshing hibiscus drink and kuih bahulu snack served while preparing to check-in. Staff told us that they have arranged for us Signature Banyan Retreat King Room with KL Tower view, 56th floor above the ground. So excited, and glad that it didn’t disappoint. In fact, we can also get a view of KLCC on the right; PNB 118 on the left – different angles of front-row seat to the ever-changing skyline. Awesome.

Extra comfy king-sized bed with soft, comfy pillows. You can also request for pillows base on your liking from the pillow menu – cotton pillow, foam pillow, latex pillow, memory pillow, Polyster pillow, or firm pillow.

Deep oval soaking tub for relaxing bath the Banyan Retreat way, with spectacular view of the iconic Kuala Lumpur Tower just outside the window. Bathbombs are kept for the next staycation because they’ve got salt and bath foam ready for us!

Have fun with the chromotherapy shower too!

Seriously love the washroom with large windows, double sink vanities.

The room’s attention to detail even extends to the bathroom fixtures. The TOTO intelligent toilet covers advanced features that cater to every need, adding convenience at just a touch of button.

The Signature Banyan Retreat room also comes with aromatherapy set – a thoughtful addition which allows us to experience the therapeutic benefits of a carefully curated selection of essential oils and incense sticks. We can choose from Lemongrass, Orange, Peppermint, Citronnella, Eucalyptus, Litsea Cubeba, Pine for Essensial Oil; Rose, Bergamot, Champaka, Lavender, Sandalwood, Night Queen, Amber for Incense Stick.

Depends on the scent chosen, they can help with relieving stress, improve blood circulation, ease, tension, refresh your mind, restore tired muscles, etc.. – perfect for stressful city people like us. Haha.

Get a dip at the swimming pool,

or burn calories at the gym.

After settled down, we walked to Pavilion KL for late lunch. This is also one of the plus point for Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur, as it is strategically located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, making it a perfect base for exploring the city’s renowned landmarks. Both KLCC and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur mall are within walking distance, easily accessible via a connecting bridge for shopping, dining and leisure. You can also hop onto the public transportation – Either the Bukit Bintang MRT Station or KLCC LRT Station to travel around.

Dinner is unique for us, as this is our first time having hotpot on 53th floor. We got a pot of vegetable soup plus heartly serving hot pot ingredients – Cabbage, carrot, tofu, mushroom, enoki mushroom, noodles. All for RM90 per person. You can addd on seafood and wagyu beef.

Sky High Tapas – Altitude Restaurant’s all-new tapas menu is set to impress. We sampled 4 tapas, 2 from the Cold Tapas – Salmon Tataki, Osmanthus Cherry Tomato; 2 from the Hot Tapas – Beef Katsu Burger, Hokkaido Scallop. Not a big menu, but every item is so delicious especially the Beef Katsu Burger. Highly recommended.

Made a reservation at Vertigo Bar for rooftop bar cocktail experience but sadly, it was raining and we can only sit indoor. Cocktail price is considered reasonble for the location. As usual, went for Old Fashioned  (RM56) and  Mount Genting (RM55).  Mount Genting is one of Vertigo’s locally inspired cocktails. A tad too sweet for us though. You can also try out Pineapple White Lady, Spiked Shirley Temple, Gula Melaka Mojito, Hibuscus Collins, Lemongrass Caipirinha.
