This July, Cafe 5 Pearl International Hotel will bring you the best of Ramadhan through “Feast of Ramadhan-Jom Berbuka Puasa @ Pearl” which showcases widespread of authentic local cuisines as well as international delicacies. Located on 5th Mile of Jalan Klang Lama, Pearl International Hotel is pride for its location which is at the mid-way of KL and PJ, making it easily accessible and serves as one of the most strategic places to look for during the coming Buka Puasa dinner.
Themed ‘hot-on-your-plate action stalls’, the buffet spread will be highlighting more than 100 dishes from all over Malaysia, all served pipping hot done a-la minute that will surely put any discerning taste buds through a journey of great food enjoyment. Also, with dishes on the buffet lines differs daily, diners can expect to come back for more.
Diners can start with the Kerabu Action Salad Station which features Malaysian rojak buah-buahan, assorted pecal with condiments, kerabu mangga muda, kerabu betik muda, ulam raja, assorted local salted fish – gelama, bulu ayam, kurau, sepat, tenggiri, talang, kembong & perkasam, terubok ikan masin, acar jelatah, and many more.
For main course, various dishes are available on rotational basis, such as ayam masak merah, daging salai percik, ikan pari assam pedas, nasi beriani gam, ayam goreng berempah, daging beriani batu pahat, ikan bakar tepian tebrau, rendang kupat melaka, kambing vindaloo, ayam percik terengganu, egg fu yong, ikan goreng masam manis, kambing masak tomato, nasi Tomato, telur dadar tegal, loh hon zhai vegetables, just to name a few.
– Ayam Golek Madu Lembah Pantai –
– Roasted Lamb –
– Grilled Fish –
From Carving station, one can get Harrissa marinated whole Lamb, fresh mixed herb marinated whole Lamb or Arabic marinated whole lamb, also on rotational basis. During our visit, there’s also Ayam Golek Madu Lembah Pantai and grilled fish available at the grill station. Both were good especially the grilled fish, fresh and soft, flavoured up with spicy and zesty gravy.
For sauces, other than black pepper sauce, what we found interesting is the mint sauce that served together with roasted lamb. It tasted so strong and sourish when eating alone, but turned surprisingly good when paired with the meat. Must-try.
Dessert station at Cafe 5 is an eye opener, with colourful yet delectable sweet treats including chocolate brownies, fruit tarts, peanut butter mouse, raspberry mousse, mocha walnut cake, chocolate donut, jelly, nyonya kuih, kerepek ubi, tapai pulut, tapai ubi, bread butter pudding and rainbow cakes lining up.
Among all, we like bread butter pudding the most – warm, soft and moist.
If there’s still some space after all the kuih and cakes, do try out their sweet soup – bubur pulut hitam, bubur cha cha and bubur kacang merah. Else, get some tropical fruits, ice cream and ice kacang to end the meal with sweet note.
