Chizu Drink Sunway Pyramid: Japanese Cheese Drink Hype Continues…

June 21, 2017 by summerkid_summergirl

Chizu Drink Sunway Pyramid, our second try on Japanese cheese drink after Regiustea at Sunway Velocity Cheras. Can’t really understand the latest, or current hype of Taiwan-style egg cake and Japanese drink across Klang Valley but still, can’t hold our curiosity to check them out.

Chizu Drink Sunway Pyramid

Chizu Drink takes pride on their double layers handcrafted beverage, combining freshly-made Japanese cheese foam with tea, coffee and other base which tends to be more refreshing, lighter in consistency comparing to the topping for a more well-balanced flavours.

There is only one Chizu outlet in Malaysia by far, which is in Sunway Pyramid. Location is at Lower Ground, opposite to Maison de Gigi croissant waffle shop. The cafe was full house with short queue when we visited last week, but service was great, waiting time is short. We got our drink in less than 10 minutes.

Matcha Red Bean Cheese RM13 /regular

Ordered Matcha Red Bean Cheese, as we wanted to see its difference with Matcha Cheese Drink we had in Regiustea. Overall, Chizu cheese topping is thicker, richer and creamier than Regiustea. In other words, more “kao”. It is really nice but too “kao” for us. Great for those who prefer their drink in really milky and cheesy.

Ours is regular version, but we will go for less the next round. Go for “super flavour” if regular is still light for you. It is suggested to enjoy Chizu drink without using straw. Just push up the opener, slant the specially designed cup in 40 degrees. We had to take a few really big gulps of cheese topping before reaching the matcha drink, that’s when we felt more satisfying as the “kao-ness” got toned down. LOL. There’s even real red bean at the bottom of our matcha latte, very little, but better than nothing.

Other option on Chizu Sunway Pyramid menu are Oreo Banana Cheese Drink, Matcha Red Bean Cheese Drink, Chocolate Cheese Drink, Coffee Cheese Drink, Blackcurrant Cheese Drink, Jasmine Green Tea Cheese, Premium Red Tea Cheese, Season Tea Cheese, Japanese Roasted Oolong Tea Cheese. Price starts from RM9-RM11 for Less Cheese, RM11 -RM13 for Regular, RM14-RM16 for Super Flavour. If you are not into cheese topping, Chizu has prepared lovely Fruit Tea selections including Super Season Fruit Tea, Boom Line Season Tea, Fully Grape Fruit Juice, Fuji Apple Green Tea and coffee to quench the thirst.

Check out cakes and tarts from their dessert counter, mini in size, good in price. RM15 for 3, RM20 for 5, eat with chopsticks. Personally, we prefer Chizu Drink over Regiustea when comes to the cheese foam, as Chizu version is smoother, nicely froth. But Regiustea is easier to drink, more refreshing and have more fancy flavours to choose from.
