2OX The Row KL is certainly no stranger to French cuisine lovers in KL. From classic favourites to creative dishes with modern twist, French cuisine here will not disappoint. We’ve been here for afternoon high-tea and casual dinner, and back again for lunch last weekend because we were told that they have revamped their menu!
Began with Tiger Prawn Torchon RM45 and thickly sliced poached potato, topped with crispy seaweed and caramelized pine nuts for contrasting crunch, drizzled wholegrain mustard vinaigrette for tangy finish.
Next, Grilled Cammerbert Cheese RM35, Summergirl’s favourite. Cheese is lightly torched at the outside, creating lovely burnt-brown edges while maintaing the nice chewy texure of the cheese. Flavours balanced up with citrus compressed plums and raspberry glaze, along with crunchy toasted hazelnut garnish.
For main course, we celebrated wonderful slow-cooked, heart-warming flavours with this Braised Ox Tail RM70, served over a bed of creamy pea emulsion. Easily-fall-off-the-bone meat, so tender and moist. Better when pairing with refreshing granny smith apple ragout topped over.
Sous vide-cooked spring chicken RM65 -succulent and locked with moist. A dish that children and adults alike will love. Dressed in cepe mushroom reduction sauce, comes with a side of preserved red cabbage.
Garlic potato puree is a little too creamy to us, but if you love real buttery, melt-in-the-mouth food, this could be your favourite.

Checked out 2OX Grilled seafood and meat, proudly presented from The Josper Grill. Pick from Grass Fed Angus Beef Striploin, Grass Fed Beef Tenderloin, Barramundi Fillet, Mild Spicy Mediterranean Rub Squid, Tiger Prawns with Hazelnut & Thyme Brown Butter, and Duck Breast with Honey, Corriander & Orange Glaze.

Each choice of mains from the grill section comes with seasonal salsa persilade and truffle pomme puree.
Among the three we sampled, whole squid rubbed with midly spicy Medditerranean spices are recommended. Like how it is not too chewy, just nice texture with light burnt aroma from the grill. Nice.
Classic carrot and walnut cake (RM35)with cinnamon whipped cream cheese, and a scoop of banoffee ice cream.
Round up our meal with Summerkid’s favourite dessert – Souffle (RM30) . Fresh from the oven, still warmth with puffy and paper-thin crispy top. Dig in and enjoyed cloud-like softness and fluffiness, further laced with subtle, fruity hints of passion fruit.
