Back to Upperhouse Bangsar Kuala Lumpur for their beautiful, worthy plated dessert, also savoury food from their new menu. In case you are not aware, Upperhouse Bangsar is a cafe specializes in fine, contemporary plated dessert.
Their sweet treats are concocted from carefully developed recipes, creatively pair together exciting flavours and texture of various ingredients for a unique, memorable sweet treat experience.
Differ from ready-to-order cakes which we usually see in the dessert counter, Upperhouse plated desserts are made-to-order. It is laborious, more time consuming and requires a lot of patient in preparation. However, the end products are worth all the waiting – lovely, pretty like a piece of art.
The last time we were here was about a year ago. Feeling glad that they are still maintaining the good quality, or to say, even better than before after tasting their latest desserts.
Buttermilk Chicken Burger RM24
Came here with an empty stomach so let’s get started with the savouries first. Upperhouse Bangsar has just revamped their menu, with a more focused selections covering Western delights with a twist such as Smoked Salmon Pasta, Mushroom Aglio Olio, Caesar Salad, Bondi Fish & Chips, Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict, Soft Shell Crab Burger; as well as dishes with Western-Asian fusion including Salted Egg Yolk Prawn Pasta, Enoki Tempura and Honey Fried Chicken. Affordable price, mostly below RM30.
Salted Egg Yolk Prawn Pasta RM25
Personally, we enjoyed their Salted Egg Yolk Prawn Pasta. Generous portion, with rich, flavourful salted egg yolk sauce thickly coated to strands of fettuccine. Cooked together with fresh, bouncy de-shelled prawns, finished with crispy anchovies, home-grown edible flowers and micro leaves garnishing. Recommended.
Honey Fried Chicken RM22
Ordered Honey Fried Chicken for sharing. Chicken marinated in buttermilk, deep fried and glazed with caramelized honey syrup. Crispy aside, there’s mild bitterness elaborated from caramelized honey syrup. Some might find it too strong, but we thought it was quite alright, as it helps to balance up the overall sweetness.
Black Forest RM21
Black Forest is a off menu, limited time dessert, crafted in collaboration with TimTam Australia. It layers together raspberry basil ice cream, lime panna cotta, lemon basil sponge, black forest flavour TimTam, jasmine mousse and Rhubarb compote, forming like a garden of treasure. Savour slowly, discover each component one by one. Try it. You’ll not be disappointed.
Strawberry Cheesecake RM20
A colourful arrangement of smoked vanilla ice cream, grilled orange, rosemary crème brulee, yoghurt parfait, and not to forget the smooth, melt-in-the-mouth cheesecake with torched mozzarella cheese. Refreshing and appetizing, just the right dessert after our main course. Apart from these two, their all-time-favourite Strawberry Watermelon Cake, Burnt Cheesecake, Mille-feuille are still on the menu for your sweet indulgence.
Edible Helium Balloon RM15
Had fun with this Edible Helium Balloon too! It is available in conjunction with Upperhouse 2nd Anniversary Special! Gulp the “air’ from the balloon deep down to your throat, then talk something. You’ll find yourself talking in cartoon-like voice. Lol. Entertaining. Add another RM3 to make it a RM18 set with black coffee.
