Shu Guo Yin Xiang Yap Kwan Seng KL 蜀國印象·火锅 is now opened! Skip the queue at Shu Guo Yin Xiang Sunway Velocity KL and enjoy delicious malat hot pot with a view of KLCC tower.
With the amount of Chinese hot pot restaurant mushrooming around KL recently, from the evergreen Haidilao to Feng Wang Fu, Xiao Long Kan, Zhao Jia Yuan Zi, etc.., Shu Guo Yin Xiang is by far, one of our favourites.
Being in the waiting list for walk-in is common for their first outlet at Sunway Velocity, especially during dinner time. Had a sudden craving for malat hot pot last weekend but reservation slot for that day was already finished when we called up. Decided to try our luck at Shu Guo Yin Xiang latest outlet in Wisma Star Jalan Yap Kwan Seng (*opposite Ambank, near Ibis KLCC) and Violaa… there’s still tables available!
Shu Guo Yin Xiang Yap Kwan Seng menu is slightly different from Velocity outlet. They do not have meat & meatball platters, but ala-carte items are almost the same.
Started by choosing our soup. We went for Shu Prosperity Triple Pot 蜀国三宫格 RM48, so that we could enjoy 3 different flavours in-on-go. Choose among Beauty Collagen, Tomato Soup, Mushroom Soup, Potk Bon Soup, Spicy and Nature Spicy.
You can also opt for Single-flavour pot 全锅, including Spicy Pot, Mushroom Soup Pot, Herbal Soup Pot, Tomato Soup Pot, Nature Spicy Oil Pot; or Double-flavours pot 鸳鸯锅 such as Spicy & Original Pot, Nature Spicy & Original Tomato Soup Pot and Spicy & Original Mushroom Pot. Price from RM38.
Meal charge per pax is RM6, which is for sauces, condiments, and free flow Eight Treasure Tea. In other words, for example, if you dine in for 6 pax, RM36 will be charged automatically to your bill.
Next, hot pot ingredients! For signatures, Shu Guo Yin Xiang Yap Kwan Seng offers Australian Sliced Beef, Scotch Fillet, Snow Quality Beef, Mutton Roll, Pork Belly Meat, Mei Ling Luncheon Meat, Pork Belly Meat, Tender Beef, Octopus, Dory Fish Fillet, Pork Neck and Homemade Prawns Paste, among others.
Meat balls & Eggs are also must-have. Find your favourites from Mushroom Water Chestnut Ball to Fresh Fish Ball, Quail Eggs, Gold Pork Slice, Crab Meat Stick, Bao Balls, Fish Tofu, Cheese Balls, Chinese Parsley Pork Meat Ball, Minced Garlic Beef Ball. Duck Blood, Pork Brain, are on the menu list too, for those with adventurous palates. for those who an acquired taste that we are still reluctant to try.
For seafood, Shu Guo Yin Xiang serves Lived Canada Lobster, Lived California Geoduck, Tiger Graoupe Fish, Tiger Prawn, USA Oyster, Coral Trout Fish, Live Tiger Grouper Fish, Lived Tiger Prawn, USA Oyster and Korea Mini Abalone.
Leng leng juan, must have everywhen we are having malat hot pot. Spicy Dry Bean Curd Skin, Deep Fried Bean Curd Sheet, Cold Bean Curd, Old Tofu, Fresh Bean Curd Skin are great choices too as these ingredients soak up beautiful flavours of broth.
Accompany your malat hot pot with appetizers and hot food like Cold Cut Sliced Beef, Cold Diced Chicken, Szechuan Crispy Pork, Fried Egg Rice, Brown Sugar Cake, Pumpkin Cake and more.
Don’t missed out the daily classic Sze Chuan Opera Mask Changing (川剧变脸) performance which started around 7.30pm at the small stage in the dining area. The performance is interesting and really amazed all the diners.
Total bill came to about ~RM330 for 5 persons. Not cheap but worth trying experience.
