The Zun Express @ The Garden, Mid Valley

October 17, 2010 by summerkid_summergirl

“I want to drink mummy’s soup” I told my girl when in Mid valley today. A minute later, my girl brought me to this shop called The Zun Express.

It was located at The Gardens and it was part of Eu Yan Sang actually. You could found it just right beside their chinese medicine shop. This will definitely the right place for soup lovers like me as they served variety of soup that has mummy’s flavor. Besides that, they also served local delights that range from XO fried rice to sang har mee to long gan tong sui…there will surely something that will win your stomach.
Ambience inside was nice and comfortable. The interior design was based on chinese oriental concept.

Menu showing “Nourishing Soup” on the cover.

Signature Fried Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf. (RM10.00)
This rice tasted like salty dumpling but normal rice was used instead of sticky rice. Lotus leaves wrapping the rice give extra fragrant to the rice. The ample amount of diced mushroom , pork meat and dried shrimps that topped on it flavoured up the rice. The portion was quite big but it was not greasy at all. Just meet the concept of the shop that promote healthy and less oily food.
6 Flavour Herbal Chicken Soup. (RM10.00)
(Tones the spleen and kidney system)
This soup made me start missing mummy’s soup ,mummy’s cooking. I miss home. The herbal soup has longan in it…giving a sweet hint to the soup. The soup went down my throat lightly and comfortably, differ from the soup in some places where the chicken grease lining on the soup’s surface always make me feel uncomfortable.
