Moet & Chandon Mini Ping Pei @ Li Yen, The Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur

September 16, 2011 by summerkid_summergirl

The Mid Autumn Festival was fall on 12th of September this year and again… My girl and me were far away from each other, so we ended up didn’t get to celebrate it together. My girl was really upset on the day but anyway, I’m sure next year we could make it! Few weeks before Mid Autumn Festival, my girl showed me a blog on the Moet & Chandon Champagne Snow Skin Mooncake. She kept nagging me must bought it for her because it was really special. Moet & Chandon inside Mooncake? This was the first thing appeared in my mind, such a luxurious mooncake will cost how much? To find the answer for all my guess, I drove to The Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur to get the answer!

This year, in addition to the famous Moet & Chandon Mini Ping Pei and Moet & Chandon Rose Imperial Mini Ping Pei, Li Yen Restaurant also came out with two new flavours – Green Tea with Custard and Egg Yolk Mini Ping Pei and also Wasabi with Lotus Paste. Well, the handsome waiter recommended me to take their famous one, so the Moet & Chandon series became my choice. I was planning to keep it inside my fridge and wait for my girl came here. But the handsome waiter said it was best to served within 3 days. Sad case. My girl did not get to taste it in the end. =( I thought we would have time to buy it again when she was here, but sometimes things wont goes as we want.
The Moet & Chandon Rose Imperial Champage Mini Ping Pei was priced at RM16.00.
When I cut the first slice out, the champagne spilled out. It was like “Ouch!” The Rose flavour was richly wrapped in the snowskin. And the further bite can feel out the Moet & Chandon Champagne. The Mini Ping Pei was very soft and not overly sweet. One word to describe it, “Excellent!”
The next one would be the Moet & Chandon Champagne Mini Ping Pei which priced at RM9.50.

Same as the previous one, the champagne spilled out when I cut the first slice out. I really enjoy the very first moment. This one was without the flavour of the rose, but it was still very nice. And it had my favourite salty egg yolk inside. The very soft outer snowskin, smooth lotus filling infused with Moet & Chandon Champagne and salty egg yolk – a perfect combination.
