Emo Cafe @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

February 29, 2012 by summerkid_summergirl

” Tired? Exhausted? Then have a rest at Emo Cafe to boost up your energy! ” A quote from Emo Cafe, a small cafe that had been quietly growing for five months in Bandar Puteri Puchong. Knowing how tired it is after working, Emo Cafe hence aims to provide a comfortable dining place for everyone with the best they can, to kick away the gloominess and stress of the day.

The interior was cozy and homey with soft lighting, a very good place to hang after a tiring work day.

Fresh Garden Green Salad.
Salad tasted OK, with lettuce, sliced cucumber, tomato, capsicum and the ordinary thousand island sauce as dressing, but I wasn’t happy with the existence of capsicum as I don’t eat that.
French Onion Soup.
French onion soup was flavorful but very oily. LOVE shape croutons added marks to the presentation but it had an unpleasant aroma with rancid taste, indirectly destroyed the taste of the soup. I wondered if the oil they used already turned bad, or the croutons were kept to long?
Grilled Chicken Chop.
Chicken chop or fish & chips are always the safest choice in a Western cafe. No doubt chicken chop here was nicely marinated, then grilled, beautifully presented and tasted delicious as well, but the portion was too small.
I was given some black pepper sauce and I poured everything onto the chicken before the owner came over and said : Taste the original first, it tasted better without sauce. >_< |||. So if you happened to dine in this shop and had chicken chop, tucked into the original piece before adding the sauce yea.
Alla Seafood Carbonara Spaghetti.
Another nicely decorated mains, with two mussels and a big shrimp sitting on top of a bed of spaghetti. Once tasted, the sauce was a let down, as it tasted like concentrated mushroom soup. After asking the owner, we were told that the they use pasta powder for the sauce, which actually disappointed us. My girl left 3/4 portion untouched, and all went into my stomach for I wasn’t full enough from the chicken chop I ate.
One good thing was the mussels were fresh, compared to the one we had back in Munich Gastro Bierhaus.
It was actually a surprise to see the chef of a small cafe taking the effort to decorate the mains before deliver to customers. Though tasted ordinary, the nice presentation already complement the taste somehow. Not to forget, Emo Cafe also serves good coffee developed from their own unique coffee recipe. Not fancy coffee? There are still a varieties of drinks to choose from. Drop by yourself to enjoy the mains and drinks!
