Hokano Japanese Restaurant, located opposite the LDP main roads, has been serving delicious Japanese food in Damansara. The shop might look a little small and obscure from the outside, but the food quality doesn’t resemble their outlook. Indeed it is the other way round. Pushing the door into the shop at 7pm on a normal working day, I was surprised that it was already 2/3 full.
We went for a simple dinner that night for ordering only a plate of sushi and a bowl of don.
California Roll (8 pieces) – (RM7.00)
Crabmeat, avocado, cucumber and tobiko.
Sushi was good, with crabmeat, avocado, cucumber rolled within the rice and coated with tobiko. Mayonaise added to the sushi roll enhance the overall taste.
Chicken Katsu Don. (RM13.95)
Portion was generous, with tender and juicy chicken. Though the meat wasn’t as thick as in Watami, but was good enough for stomach satisfaction.
A bowl of miso soup came with the rice.
