Through the Best Ribs Election Showdown held recently by Tony Roma’s Malaysia, diners had voted for their favourite ribs among Tony Roma’s signature “Bountiful Beef Ribs”, “Beef Short Ribs” and the new entrant “Lamb Ribs”. Bountiful Beef Ribs emerged as the eventual winner, and Lamb Ribs came in an incredibly close second, which is just three percent less vote than the winner.
The results for Best Ribs Election showdown was an eye-opener for Tony Roma’s Malaysia. When they were happy that Bountiful Beef Ribs was still the best seller and favourite among all, but at the same time they were delighted to know that diners love the newly introduced Lamb Ribs as well.

The introduction of Lamb Ribs into a revamped menu highlights Tony Roma’s Malaysia’s commitment to bring the world famous award winning Tony Roma’s dining experience to each Malaysia public as possible, seeing that Malaysia is made up of different races, religions and believes.

Prior to this, even though Beef Ribs are the prime attention and best seller in Tony Roma’s, there is a large segment of Malaysian public are left out due to their religious sensibilities which doesn’t encourage them to consume beef. The management has taken this into deep consideration and eventually came up with this lip smacking Lamb Ribs to cater the market, as well as providing an alternative option for diners.
The success of introducing Lamb Ribs in Tony Roma’s Malaysia doesn’t only added in another option in the menu list, but also added another feather to its cap by clinching Tony Roma’s global “Brand Innovation”, awarded by Romacorp, the franchisor of Tony Roma’s based in Orlando, Florida, USA.
More noteworthy is, this is truly and fully Malaysian innovation. The process to develop the lamb ribs was painstaking, as there was no reference points within Tony Roma’s. Muhammad Adam Mah, Tony Roma’s Malaysia Operation Manager and the local team had to work out themselves on everything- from research to choosing ingredients, perfecting seasoning and maintaining consistency.

The hard work of Tony Roma’s local R&D team were paid off, when the end results turned out to be so delicious- smoky, juicy, flavour packed and most importantly, without much unpleasant gamey taste.
