Zuò 坐 @ Publika [CLOSED DOWN]

May 5, 2013 by summerkid_summergirl

Going to Publika has almost become our weekly routine.
Everytime reaching there, it is always time for lunch or dinner- an irritating time to think of what to dine on. Getting a place to dine in here isn’t a difficult task, but apparently most restaurants here serve non-Chinese cuisines. Here’s the headache part- we always want to have Chinese food.

We usually ended up eating at Eat Food Village, having food from the same stall over and over again. VERY BORING. So we are more than happy when we saw Zuo, a new restaurant that has quietly opened up in a corner of Eat Food village, just right beside the bak kut teh shop. We went there for late lunch last week, and found that they serve good Chinese food.

Braised Pork Belly (RM12.90)
The boy had this. Slowly braised, the pork belly developed the colour and flavours of dark soy sauce. Lean meat was tenderly soft, with the fatty part almost melt in the mouth.

Gravy was thick, flavoursome, matches heavenly with white rice. All these thanks to the power of braising process that rendered out the flavours of preserved mustard cabbage and sweetness of meat into the dish, making it a great taste of home that we enjoyed very much.

Black Pepper Udon Mee (RM10.90)
The all-time-noodle girl went for Black Pepper Udon Mee, and she said it was good. Drenched in black pepper sauce, the udon undoubtly promoted a sharp flavour of black pepper. Stirred in the raw egg sitting above, extra creaminess comes in.

The claypot kept the noodles steamingly hot, so it was hot and spicy throughout her whole dinner. She took a long time finishing them, but with a smile wore on eventually. A sign of satisfaction.
In short, Zuo has more to offer and we tasted only two. Will come back to try out more, as their food really suits our palate, more importantly is the reasonable price that won’t burn a hole in our pocket.
