Kheong Kee Bak Kut Teh 強記肉骨茶 @ Pandan Indah

June 6, 2013 by summerkid_summergirl

Kheong Kee Bak Kut Teh 強記肉骨茶 , probably one of the restaurant in Pandan Indah KL that has brisk business for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the years. It started as a small corner shop, and currently expanded to have few shoplots in this neighbourhood area.

Going to Klang for a bak kut teh meal is always too far for us. So whenever we are craving for bak kut teh, Kheong Kee Bak Kut Teh at Pandah Indah will be our choice. Opened from morning until night, we can go there for bak kut teh whenever we feel like, either day time or night time. We did went there after 9pm one day, and glad to find that the shop was still brightly lit, half occupied.

We ordered bak kut teh portion for two, complete with a bowl of Yau Char Kwai – an essential item for us when come to having bak kut teh. It is enjoyable to have it soak up the soup like a sponge , burst with flavours of the broth once biting through.

Kheong Kee Bak Kut Teh soup is on the light side, with mild herbs flavours. Not the best but decent enough to get us refill twice as it is very soothing, tummy warming.

For ingredients, we always get ourselves all parts of the pork in one pot: lean meat, fat meat, pork intestine, pork stomach, beancurd sheet, vegatables and etc.

Sour cabbage, or gai choy.  Tomato-ish and flavorful, medium spiciness. Considered ideal for Summerkid who has a weak stomach, but love spicy & sour food.
So if you are nearby, this bak kut teh shop is not bad for a quick meal in reasonable price. Quite crowded during dinner hours so be early if you hate waiting.
