Originated from Penang, Bali Hai is always proud with their tagline ‘If it swims We Have It’, which indicating that they serve a wide choice of flavours from the sea. From fresh Alaska Spider crab to top range live Austalian Lobster cooked to your desire, Bali Hai will definitely open up a whole new seafood dining experience to diners.

There are two outlets in Penang, one called Bali Hai Seafood Market in Gurney Drive, while the other one in Batu Feringgi is called Golden Thai Seafood. From September 2012 onwards, Bali Hai has a new born in Klang Valley, which is in Kota Damansara. Good news for Bali Hai seafood lovers as they no longer have to travel all the way from Selangor to Penang for seafood feast.

Same as the other two branches, Bali Hai Kota Damansara also allow diners to pick their seafood live from the tank and cooked accordingly- which is still, by far the best way to prepare seafood while preserving its original flavours and freshness.

Bali Hai Kota Damansara occupied a large space, with seating capacity of 700-800, featuring 5 private dining rooms, and 8 gazebo huts. 3 out of the 5 private dining rooms are equipped with Karaoke sets.

Currently, Bali Hai is having all-you-can-eat buffet at RM98 nett, giving you the best chance to enjoy unlimited seafood and other delicacies. The buffet spread wasn’t wide, but the freshness and quality of seafood on each tray will definitely make your buffet worth the price.

Fresh Oyster
Take the fresh oyster for example. While many places serve oyster too, they are not huge as those in Bali Hai. Raw Oyster here are all of palm size big. Yes, almost as big as your palm and you can tuck in as many as you want.

Hot & Spicy Crab
Moving on there’s Hot & Spicy Crab, or commonly known as Chilli Crab. Not sure how many mud crab we had eaten during our visit there, but we didn’t have to worry how much we need to fork out for the ‘KG’ we had, as it was already included in buffet price we paid.
IMG_1312e
Boiled Tiger Prawns
Boiled tiger prawns, very simple cooking style to keep the prawns at its most original flavour. Indeed, when the seafood is fresh, there’s no extra sauces or special cooking method needed. The freshness, sweetness and bouncy texture are what we wanted to go for. Best at its original.

Mussels in Kam Heong
The girl seldom has mussels, but she piled her plate with mussels for few rounds that night. Thanks to the Kam Heong sauce which made the whole dish pack with flavours- Fiery chilli, fragrant curry leaves, crispy bits of dried shrimps leaves, savoury sauce bean paste made a brilliant combination, leaving this popular hawker stir fried styles with extra aroma and flavours.

Mussels in Thai Chilli Sauce
While Kam Heong Mussels are more to Chinese cooking style, Bali Hai add in a twist of Thai flavour to the same seafood by serving Mussels in Thai Chilli Sauce that gave a clean, fresh, appetizing flavours.
IMG_1352e
Crispy Deep Fried Squid
Freshly deep fried squid is always good for it is still crispy, pipping hot and chewy meat texture. Nothing special, just addictive. Other than that, Squid in Spicy Assam style is avaible on the buffet line too.
IMG_1357e
Deep Fried Crispy Chicken with curry Leaves
Tender pieces of deep fried chicken coated with salty crispy bits and aromatic curry leaves. Another addictive munch with a good balance of crispiness, saltiness and flavourfulness.
IMG_1368e
Salt & Chilli BBQed Chicken Wings
A little similiar to Taiwanese Deep Fried Chicken, with curry powder and salt sprinkled on deep fried chicken wings. Finger licking good but kinda salty towards the end.
IMG_1379e
BBQed Grilled Chicken Satay
IMG_1372e
BBQed Oyster Mushrooms, Shiitake Mushrooms, and Long Beans
Assorted grilled vegetables were not bad too, especially the shiitake mushroom, as the flavours of the mushrooms were intensified within during the grilled.
IMG_1388e
Lamb Chops in Sweet & Sour Sauce
We found this interesting- the lamb chop is served in sweet & sour sauce instead of black pepper, mushroom sauce and original flavour like what we usually have in restaurant. A new try.
IMG_1344e
Kappa Clams with Chilli Padi & Shrimp
While all dishes in Bali Hai for this buffet rotates every day, you might get different dishes from what we had that night. But no worries, the next day you visit, you will still see huge oyster, just myabe it will be cheese baked. Still, delicious. =D Do drop by before the promotion ends!
