Fahrenheit 600 Restaurant&Cafe @ Publika Solaris Dutamas

Since the middle age times, wood burning brick oven has been used to bake bread and other foods, but its origin is lost, together with time and technology evolution. Despite the advancement of baking technology, the unique savory, rustic taste of bread produced through high heat of brick oven can never be reproduced in a normal kitchen oven.

Hence, Fahreinheit 600 leads us back to the original good flavours of bread- with artisan pizza and sandwiches as the centerpiece of meal, all finely baked using brick oven imported from America, skillfully assembled in Malaysia, brick by brick.

Their selection of pizzas, sandwiches and pasta are all baked in constant 600 Fahrenheit wood-fired stone oven, as this temperature is said to give the best old-world texture for an aunthentic pizza. This is also how the 4-months-old restaurant in Publika, Solaris Dutamas gets its name- Fahrenheit 600.

We paid a visit there last Friday after work, feeling excited to try out their 600 Fahrenheit goodness. While waiting, we got ourselves a cuppa of cuppucino and iced green tea latte, seeing that the restaurant also specialized in coffee. They serves three types of beans- Columbia, Italian and houseblend. One can also get real iced tea from Teapigs, the renowned tea brand from UK.

Swedish Pizza ( 9″-RM26.90, 12″- RM30.90)

Our squared shaped Swedish Pizza finally arrived- 12″, huge, smelt so nice. Fresh, chewy texture freshly handmade pizza base smothered with cream sauce, topped with Norwegian Salmon and and cheese. Fahrenheit 600 offers two types of sauce, cream sauce and tomato sauce. Other than Swedish, Mushroom Land, Oceania, Savoyard Square pizza are choices that has cream sauce smothered within.

Americano ( 9″- 24.90, 12″- RM28.90)

IMG_9179e

For tomato based, we had Americano- Square pizza topped with minced meat, roast beef, green pepper, caramelized onion, olives, garlic and home made Mozarella cheese. For those who like to try out various flavours at one go, they can opt for All Around the World which has 4 flavours in a pizza, and that is also the only round pizza with everything in it, enough to make you tuck in with satisfying smile.
For caramalized onion in many places are sauteed with lots of oil to get the perfect flavours and aroma, Fahrenheit 600 does the opposite way- they caramelize their onion in the bricks oven, healthy yet doesn’t fall short of flavours. The reason behind is because Fahrenheit 600 holds on a concept to serve food in healthy way. So they insist to have: no deep fried items in the menu list.

Beef Bolognese Lasagna (RM17.90)

Though pizzas are the signatures dishes, diners can also get delicious lasagna like Mushroom and Eggplant Pizza, Beef Bolognese Lasagne, Mushroom and Chicken Lasagna; cheese baked pasta such as Mushroom and Chicken Cheese Baked Pasta, Carbonara Cheese Baked Spaghetti; gratin like Mushroom Gratin and Bolognese Gratin; sandwiches and finger foods here.

Tropezienne Cake (RM7.90)
Coming to dessert, the restaurant has an experienced pastry chef who persists to prepare cake in traditional way, so you may not find colourful, fancy desserts here, but the authenticity can easily make you want for more. Taking the Tropezienne Cake as example, it is a traditional French dessert that seems plain, simple and unappealing. But thick strips of creamy, slight sourish filling sandwiching through halved brioche has successfully win our heart.

Tiramisu (RM10.90)
Tiramisu is good too, spongy cake layering with cream cheese, heavily infused with liquid coffee flavours. Chocolate mousse, chocolate cake, white forest, black forest, flan cake, and cookies are also available to end your meal with sweet note. # Mission during the next visit: White Forest Cake. #

Yeah, we met the handsome and pretty owners too. It was glad for having the chance to meet them during our visit there and had a short chat with them. Very friendly owner who happens to like Malaysia so much ( * and also durian). Good owners, good environment, good food, good place to hang out.
