Boutique Hotel De Art @ Shah Alam

Located in Seksyen 7, Shah Alam, Boutique Hotel De Art is more than just an ordinary hotel. In fact, it is one of the most creative lifestyle hotel in Malaysia, with 58 rooms designed in different themes such as fairy tales, flowers and nature, movies, majestic China, Star Wars, posh Europe, mystical Egypt and cities like Paris & New York.

Unique aside, the hotel is very strategic as it is just about 5 minutes drive from Klang, 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur and 40 minute from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). It is also easily accessible to many tourist spots such as I-City, Blue Mosque, The Shah Alam Sports Complex, Extreme Park, Sunway Lagoon Theme Park, Bukit Cahaya Agricultural Park.

There’s even rooms themed under legendary superstars like Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe, Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty and lady gaga!

There are nine types of room to choose from, suitable for single traveller to family visit. Pick from single bed, queen bed, double single beds, twin superior room, superior deluxe room with lake view, superior deluxe room, twin superior room with lakeview, triple room and family room.

While each room is unique in its own way, the room price is being kept reasonable. The entire room isn’t spacious, but clean and complete with basic amenities you need such as free WiFi, TV with selected Astro channels, hot shower, surau, 24 hours reception service, etc.

During our visit, we checked into The Hidden Dragon Cruching Tiger theme room, featuring antique China elements.

The wallpapers full with Chinese caligraphy in the entire room is enough to speak for this.

Our friends’ rooms were equally interesting. Where one is in cute blue theme, and another one with retro romance style. Not very spacious, but clean and comfy.

For every stay in De Art Hotel, guests will be given complimentary breakfast at Hailam Coffee House just next to the hotel. Their breakfast is simple, where one can make a choice from toast, half boiled egg & coffee set, tuna & coffee set, nasi lemak & coffee set or Western breakfast set.

Overall, our stay in De Art Hotel is a pleasant one, ideal for those who are looking for a reasonable stay in Shah Alam. We also like that the place is just walking distance from restaurants and mini marts, so there is no worries of no getting food late night or early in the morning. Hop on to Hailam Coffee Shop whenever you feel hungry as it is opened early in the morning till late. =D

How to go
By commuter: From KL Sentral station, board a KTM to Shah Alam station. From Shah Alam station, you can take a taxi to our hotel (around 10-15 min)

By car: Use the Federal Highway and follow the direction to i-City. Turn right and pass through the bridge, and you will see Wisma Jakel and Petronas Station at your left, and UiTM backdoor at your right. Go straight and turn left at the 2nd traffic light junction (immediately after seeing Klinik Kesihatan Seksyen 7 Shah Alam at your left), and turn right immediately after that. You would see a big lake (Shah Alam Recreational Park) at your right and Hotel de Art and Hailam Coffee House is just in front of the lake.
