Elite Seafood Restaurant, a place where you can find a wide varieties of imported seafood from all over the world. Sounds tempting but we can only keep till next time, as we were there to have their Chinese New Year meal this round.

Located in Section 13, the restaurant is formerly known as Ah Yat Abalone restaurant. The interior boasts a spacious, splendid furnishing. Grand and elegant with excellent service. There is public dining area, as well as private rooms.

Abalone, Salmon and Snow Pear Yee Sang
(RM128/half portion; RM188/a portion)
Our meal started off with Yee Sang, the must have in Chinese New Year dinner. Nowadays, apart from maintaining as a routine culture, how well a yee sang tastes like becomes important to diners too. We would say that lau sang in Elite Seafood Restaurant is good, as it makes a balance between crunchiness of crackers, juiciness of shredded vegetables and fruits, sweet tanginess of sour plum sauce and most importantly, the fresh raw salmon and abalone has liven up the whole platter.

Fortune Big Bowl Feast
(RM488/ 10 pax; RM248/ 5 pax; RM19.80 for additioanl abalone each)
Here comes the highlights- Fortune Big Bowl Feast or more commonly known as poon choy. The upper layer is beautifully arranged with prawns, broccoli , mushrooms, beancurd sheet, sea cucumber, and abalone, while the layer beneath has more treasures to be discovered such as pig trotter, chicken, etc. We were having portion for 10, which is priced at RM488++, with additional RM19.80 per piece of abalone. To cater smaller group, poon choy of RM248++ for 5 pax is available too.

Fried Glutinous Rice with Waxed Meat
(RM28/ portion)
Glutinous rice steamed together with waxed sausage, waxed duck and other preserved meat, having them render a perfect flavours into the rice. Scoop the rice with a slice of meat each time, as the combination of sticky rice with the waxed meat brings a the burst of flavours that is so moreish.

Roasted Pork
Elite Seafood’s roasted pork is great, browned beautifully with juicy result. Everyone loves this, too hard to resist a plate of tender roasted pork with crispy cracking skin.

An array of special dim sum will be served from the day 2 to day 7 of Chinese New Year, featuring ingredients and name that symbolises fortune, prosperity and wealth. For instance, fish ball is named as Fatt Choy Yu Kau Mai (prosperity fish ball). While the name is propitious, they taste good too. Handmade using fresh ingredients, the fish ball is no doubt bouncy, providing a clean and simple flavours.

Where minced pork is the most essential ingredients for siew mai, there is always extra ingredient such as fish roe, shrimp, etc. topping over this classic favourite to add more colours, texture, and flavours. Siew mai here is up level compared to some other dim sums by crowning mini abalone on it.

Steamed prawn dumplings deserves a thumbs up for the huge, bouncy, fresh whole prawns wrapped within paper thin, smooth dumpling skin.

Deep Fried Yam Ball is noteworthy, best eaten pipping hot. Crispy at the outer deep fried layer followed by creamy yam paste, then rich, flavourful meat filling to complete the wonderful munch. So good, so flavourful.

Pan fried raddish cake is highly recommended. We like the fact that the kitchen prepares the raddish cake in good proportion of flour and raddish, not just plain flour taste. Crisp edge, soft interior with fragrance of raddish tasted at every bite, plus bits of dried shrimp to add more flavours. Lovely.

Summer girl is happy to find Pan Fried Glutinous Rice Cake served on the table, as this traditonal snack has always been her favourite during Chinese new year. It is usually sandwiched with sweet potato and yam, but Elite Seafood turns it into a simpler version by coating it lightly with a layer of egg.

Baked Egg Tart with Bird Nest
We end the meal with Baked Egg Tart with Bird Nest, a luxury treat that has very flaky pastry skin filled with smooth, eggy custard, topped over with generous amount of bird nest.
