Tasty BBQ House 臘味無窮@ Taman University

Located in the neighbourhood of Taman University, Tasty BBQ House may not serve the best char siew or siu yoke in town, but their decent roasted fare prepared with heaps of heart and patience are worth a mention.

Chef Sam, the man in the kitchen focuses on skills and secret recipe towards good roasted delicacies for years, gaining experience in the country, as well as oversea. Hong Kong was the place where he learnt a lot, so he brought back the roasting knowledge which can be slightly different from local recipe.

Honey BBQ Pork Char Siew
Signature dish in Tasty BBQ House. You may find it sweet and sticky, but this is how Honey BBQ Char Siew should be like in Hong Kong. Honey is brushed onto the char siew repeatedly during the roasting process, until it is thickly coated with a layer of caramelized, sweet and glossy surface.

Crispy Roasted Pork Belly/Siu Yoke
We were lucky enough to get a batch of freshly roasted siu yoke, even though we visited in the evening. Wondrous contrast of succulent meat and crunchy crackling skin, mingled with a touch of herbs flavour.

Roasted Duck
Roasted duck is good too, firm and juicy meat with a crisp skin set off by a layer of fat to create a moist, sinful sensation. Enjoy it at only RM8.80 with a bowl of nourishing soyp of the day and drink during lunch combo, 12 to 3pm.

Roasted Chicken
Roasted chicken is tenderly soft, delicious to go with rice or noodle.

Honey BBQ Chicken
Go for Honey BBQ Chicken if you like your chicken smothered with a thick, sweet honey sauce. More appetizing and robust in flavours.

Prawn Wantan
Apart from roasted meat, Tasty BBQ House offers also prawn wantan soup, prawn dumpling soup and myriad of porridge such as paddy frog porridge, fish porridge, meat ball porridge, etc. to cater different taste bud.

Prawn Dumpling
Slurpy smooth skin brimmed with minced meat and fresh bouncy prawn filling, we prefer the dumplings over wantan.

Wantan Mee
Wantan Mee here is surprisingly good, thin and springy strands of noodle evenly tossed in dark gravy or immersed in clear soup, simple yet satisfyingly delicious. Recommended.

Diners can have it with prawn dumpling, prawn Wantan, Honey BBQ char siew, roasted chicken, roasted duck or siu yoke. Get a three treasures BBQ combo if you loved all the roasted stuff and can’t decide which one to have.
