[Bangkok 3D2N] Hotel Mercure Bangkok Siam, Bangkok, Thailand

In December 2012, Accor hotels – the world’s leading hotel group is proud to announce their another new hotel in Bangkok, Thailand- Mercure Bangkok Siam. This prestigious 4 star hotel is strategically located in the heart of Bangkok city, just 1 minute walking from BTS Skytrain National Stadium station.

Many call this building a 7-stars hotel, as 1st to 8th floors is occupied by ibis, a 3-stars hotel; while 9th to 27th floor belongs to Mercure Bangkok Siam. The sum of both the hotels lead this hotel building to an unofficial 7-stars glamour.

Mercure Bangkok Siam is by far the hotel nearest to Skytrain we have stayed before. As you align at BTS National Stadium, follow exit one down the staircase (the only bad is we need to carry super heavy luggage down). The hotel, a building painted in dark grey will be on your right. It is so NEAR!

From the hotel, you can access to MBK Shopping Mall, Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC) and Jim Thompson Musuem, all within few minutes of walking. Apart from that, it is just one station away from BTS Siam, the station that  calls for Bangkok must-go shopping destinations like Siam Center, Siam Square, Siam Discovery, Siam Square I, Siam Paragon.

As you walked into the building, take the lift to 9th floor and reach the spacious lobby of Mercure Bangkok Siam. Staffs at the service counter is attentive, fluent in English and answered all our questions politely. In case you need to leave your luggage after check out, feel free to ask at the counter.

Superior, privilege and suite rooms make up to a total of 189 rooms in Mercure, all appointed with chic and modern style equipped with essential facilities, making our stay in Bangkok “home away from home”.

Our superior room houses 25 sqr. meter, doesn’t get the plus point in term of size but we like how Mercure presents the room. Carpeted floor in brown with grey tone curtains, sofa, bedside table completed with pillow in bright red and green, drawing lively elements into entire design.

Mini workstation mounted to the wall- wooden table with charming cushioned chair in red.

Summergirl loved the sofa placed next to the huge window, overlooking the breathtaking view of Bangkok city. She ‘declared’ the sofa as hers once going into the room, so that she could fall asleep accompanied by the awesome night view of Bangkok, and woke up welcoming by the clear blue sky of this city. #so greedy

Indeed, nice view from our room at 23rd floor.

Bathroom is sectioned into dry and wet area.

Bathroom wall is constructed into transparent glass, viewable from both the shower and bedroom area. But no worries as there is wooden door to cover up if you need more privacy.

Colourful tubes of conditioning shampoo, shower gel and body lotion.

Mini bar with complimentary mineral water, coffee and tea. WIFI access is free throughout our stay in the hotel.

Opened the wardrobe and discover in-room safety deposit box, iron, ironing board and hair dryer.

There are three restaurants in Mercure – The Eight Restaurant, The Pool Bar and Mercure Sky Lobby Bar. The Eight Restaurant is located at the 8th floor of the hotel, offering all day dining boasting local and international cuisine. Mercure Sky Lobby Bar is located at the lobby level of the hotel, featuring a lovely garden terrace that offers you the city view from 9th floor. Can’t deny that our top pick goes to the Pool Bar which is located at 29th floor of the hotel, open air with the fantastic view of Bangkok from up high.

Swimming pool isn’t big but again, view is the winning point. Lay on the lounger with a glass of cocktail, immerse yourself in the sun and breeze, that’s how a holiday should be like.

Burn extra calories at the fitness center equipped with up-to-date equipments, facing the Bangkok view.

View from fitness center, an extended level above the swimming pool.

In short, we were satisfied with our 3D2N stay at Mercure Bangkok Siam, everything is good, no complains. Will surely back to this hotel during our next trip to Bangkok.
