When Komugi Japanese bakery first opened in Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur the inviting scene of freshly baked breads and aroma permeated in the air is so irresistible. Everytime when we passed by, we couldn’t help but to buy few buns back home.

Overwhelming response from the public seems to build confidence for Komugi Malaysia,as we come across more Komugi launched in Main Place Mall USJ 21, Pavillion Kuala Lumpur, Paradigm Mall, Subang Parade, Sunway Giza Mall, Sunway Pyramid, few of them in cafe style, and also further establishment of BAUM by Komugi in Mid Valley.

The cafe’s style Komugi combines the best of Japanese cafe culture with traditional French baking, enhancing diners experience by allowing them to pick their choice of buns and enjoy in a cozy, relaxing environment. Quick take away is available too. Apart from bread, cake and pastry, Komugi Cafe also comes with complete menu for all-day-dining, sufficient to cater from breakfast till dinner.

Komugi Beef Burger RM18.90
A huge burger sandwiching thick, round, pan-fried minced beef patty, melted cheese, tomato, lettuce within two halved, fresh bagels. We didn’t expect Komugi’s burger to turn out so delicious.  The patty itself is the winner among all, so juicy and flavorful, well locked with juiciness.

Marinara RM19.90
Komugi’s marinara seafood pasta tastes light but delivers distinctively fresh taste of tomato, clearly healthier for its made-from-scratch sauce. Toppings of seafood are generous, brimming with clams, mussels, prawns, squid.

Omelette with Mushroom RM13.90
Komugi makes excellent omelette and we loved this! Generous amount of saute mushroom rest within fluffy soft egg, perfectly kept with moisture and non-greasy at all. Other options include Omelette with Cheese, Omelette with Chicken Ham, and Omelette with Sausage.

Scrambled Egg & Shrimp Croissant RM16.90
Sink your teeth into a medley of textures for this Scrambled Egg & Shrimp Croissant – started with light crunchiness of buttery croissant, followed by soft, creamy scrambled egg and briny sweetness of shrimp, simple, yet satisfyingly good.

Cream Puff RM4.80, Krone RM4.80
Cream puff filled with custard cream complements one another well, as the chewy, airy puff draws a good marriage with the sweet, custardy cream. However, we prefer the cream to be filled in krone, as it showcases delightful texture contrast between the thin, crispy, flaky with creamy, rich cream.

There is ample of lovely choices for everyone in Komugi, from light flavour of Hokkaido Milk Bun, Orange Bites to heavier taste Melted Cheese Bun, Tomato Mozzarella Cheese Toast, Sausage & Onion Cheese Toast, as well as healthy Multigrain, Wholemeal Walnut bun.

Salmon Paneo RM5.50
Salmon Paneo is very doughy and requires much chews, with aromatic salmon bits that tastes very much like Har Mei (dried shrimp), instantly flavour up the whole bread.

Original Cottage Cheese Pudding RM3.50
We used to love Komugi Signature Hanjuku Cheese, now their Original Cottage Cheese Pudding is our new favourite. Wholesomely rich, velvety smooth and creamy with a balance formulation of high quality cottage cheese and egg.

Komugi Signature Hanjuku Cheese RM3.80
Proudly created by Chef Furuta Yoshikatsu, Komugi Signature Hanjuku Cheese Cake is one of the best seller in Komugi. Do not leave the bakery without trying this half-baked, delicately soft and spongy, easily melt-in-the mouth.

Pudding RM5.50
Pudding here is  noteworthy too, available in original, choco and mango flavours. Equally pleasing dessert, but Cottage Cheese Pudding is still the best for us.
