Located just one street away from the bustling Changkat Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Mesui KL reflects a total contrary to Changkat, offering a row of restaurants and cafes that boasts a calm, cozy environment for more quiet, laid-back dining.

No Black Tie- KL’s leading Jazz bar; Feeka Coffee Roaster-one of the best coffee places in KL, run by the folks behind Butter+ beans; Limabelas-the fast-rise restaurant that offers great authentic Nyonya cuisine; and also Table 23 Restaurant & Bar- the chic restaurant with Asian lunch menu during daytime and Western gourmet during dinner, are all the familiar faces you will come across along this small lane.

Previously Feeka Coffee Roaster, and this time we check out Table 23 Restaurant & Bar which is just few doors away. Opening in 2013, this less than two -year- old restaurant showcases a welcoming interior, highlighting nostalgic elements like old-school scooter and chalk drawings with rustic touch of exposed bricks, wooden furniture, picture less frames and homey, partially garden-like al-fresco dining area.

Curry Laksa

Taking the consideration that lunch hour is short, and usually in hurry, Table23 Restaurant & Bar comes up with a spread of delicious local and Chinese food such as curry laksa, fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, Cantonese Kuey Teow and more.

Thai Beef Salad RM19.00
For dinner, patrons can discover a mix of Western and Asian-infused delicacies.Takes the Thai Beef Salad as example, Table23 brings together Lollo Rosa, Roquette Leaf, Romaine Lettuce, Cherry Tomatoes and cucumber topped with tender slices of marinated beef, further enhanced with fiery hot kick of chilli paddy, shallot and spicy Thai dressing.

Beef cheek RM78.00
Definitely the highlights and must-order in Table 23 Restaurant & Bar. Slow-braised for six hours, the beef cheek which is dressed in a bed of flavourful, rich brown gravy delivers extra moist and soft texture, easily melt in the mouth without much bites. Sided with Parmentier potatoes, cherry tomatoes and sautéed zucchini.

Pan Seared Salmon RM40.00
Goes for pasta like Duck Confit Capellini, lasagna or fish mains if you are not into beef. Table23 recommends Pan Seared Salmhear having thick slice of salmon fillet pan seared to result crispy outer skin layer, flaky meat inside. Served with oven dried tomatoes, eggplant, garnished with Roquette leaf and pine nuts.

Apple Strudel RM18.00
The restaurant is prides for their apple strudel, made in house from scratch. Fresh, buttery pastry enveloping pipping hot apple cubes, crowned with vanilla ice cream and decorated with fresh cream, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, sprinkled with crushed peanuts and drizzles of mango syrup for tangy sweet flavours.

Chocolate Guinness Cake RM20.00
Chocolate Guinness Cake is also not to be missed. Lovely, dense, chocolaty cake infused with Guinness beer for a faint hint of alcoholic goodness. Served with vanilla ice cream.
