Kurata Japanese Fine Dining @ PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur

Si Chuan Dou Hua Chinese Restaurant is always the top notch dining place in PARKROYAL Hotel Kuala Lumpur. From tea to dim sum, soup, Chinese stir-fried dishes etc., Si Chuan Dou Hua never disappoint. Now, there is another noteworthy restaurant adding to the dining list in PARKROYAL Hotel KL- Kurata Japanese Fine Dining.

Opening in November 2014, Kurata Japanese Fine Dining aims to deliver the accurate, finest authentic Japanese food culture in town – Soup stocks are original and handmade from scratch; seafood items are carefully selected and imported from the first-rate fish markets from Kyushu, Hokkaido and Tsukiji; no additives, preserved ingredients or lard are used in the cooking.

Kurata Japanese Fine Dining’s kitchen is headed by three experienced Japanese chefs- the Director Chef Doi, Executive Chef Fujiwara and Head Sushi Chef Saito. The restaurant itself, is developed by Cassandra Lynn Kurata, a picky eater who wishes to bring the best of Japanese cuisine to Malaysia .

There are 4 private rooms in Kurata Japanese Fine Dining, and the largest private room accommodate up to 20 guests. Special dinner courses start from RM 180, RM  220, RM 270, RM 330.  On top of grand private rooms, they have spacious dining hall to assist banquet events for up to 78 pax. For special banquet events they provide buffet style for more reasonable pricing at RM 210 per person starting reservation from 40 pax. To reserve dinner banquet dinner courses 4 days advance reservations are necessary.

Ala cart Seafood Shabu Shabu RM 155 ( for 2 person)

Seafood Shabu- Shabu is one of the highlights in Kurata Japanese Fine Dining, created by Chef Fujiwara. The soup stock is prepared from natural dashi, konbu, sake, mirin. No dried skipjack tuna (katsuoboshi) is used in the soup stock because Kurata believes that mixing too many fishes will end up overpowering the natural flavours of the soup and doesn’t help in enhancing the deliciousness.

Since “Shabu-Shabu” literally means dipping fresh ingredients inside the soup stock, guest will get to enjoy having imported angle shrimp, king crab and snow crab cooked in the sweet, nourishing and soothing soup. Just lay back and watch the trained waiters prepare the seafood shabu-shabu right at the table for best timing to eat.

Apart from Seafood Shabu-Shabu, sushi is also the must-have in Kurata Japanese Fine Dining. Cheers as Chef Saito, who has over 20 years of experience in Edomae Sushi is right here in Kurata PARKROYAL to churn out the most exquisite sushi for you.

“I felt that there are true sushi lovers in Malaysia. The appreciation, curiosity and knowledge for Sushi in Malaysia is something close to what we have in Japan so I decided to stay and work for “Kurata” to spread what I have been doing for 20 years of my life.” Chef Saito said.

To experience Kurata gastronomic omakase sushi course, reserve a place for yourself at their sushi counter. The Omakase Sushi is limited to 6 pax only at Kurata Sushi Counter. The Omakase course is designed for each guest by directly communicating with Chef Saito.

For edomae novice or sushi lovers, it is recommended to visit on Tuesday Wednesday or Friday, where the freshest air-flown seafoods are delivered to the restaurant. We love selfish orders and demands to satisfy all of our guests.
