ROCKU @ Pavilion KL: 100 minutes eat-all-you-can Japanese Yakiniku

Rocku Japanese Yakiniku Buffet One Utama is now opened! Located at LOT F355/356/357, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, First Floor, Rainforest, 47800  PJ Malaysia.

We finally tried out Rocku Japanese Yakiniku, the 100 minutes eat-all-you-can Japanese style yakiniku buffet located at 7th floor Dining Loft, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Originated from Singapore, ROCKU Yakiniku is a brand owned by CreativEATeries group. The concept and reasonable pricing has successfully brought in throng of crowds to visit ROCKU Yakiniku since the first week of its opening, marking same legendary history of long queue in Suki-ya sukiyaki & shabu-shabu at Pavilion Tokyo Street, which also belongs to the same company.

While Suki-ya limits to 2 hours of eat-all-you-can, ROCKU Yakiniku allows dining time of 100minutes. Some of you may say: “100 minutes of BBQ + eating? It is definitely not enough! We will give all the time to busy barbecuing and eating around, there will be no chance of talking and gossiping. It lose the purpose of BBQ culture!”. And eh, NO, not at all. 100 minutes is generally sufficient to have BBQ+eating + chatting + beer talk. In case you need more, just add another RM9.90 to block an extra 20 minutes. It doesn’t really hurt the wallet as ROCKU Yakiniku buffet is only priced at RM39.90++ per pax for lunch, RM49++ for dinner.

Surprisingly, at the price of less than RM50++, ROCKU Yakiniku offers unlimited servings of premium meat and seafood, ranging from beef ribeye, beef striploin, pork belly, pork bacon, butter fish, mussels, prawns, salmon, scallop and more.

BEEF selections:
beef striploin
beef chuck tender
beef ribeye
beef striploin
beef platter (combination of all above)

PORK selections:
pork bacon
pork collar
pork belly
pork platter (combination of all above)

LAMB selections: (*coming soon)
lamb shoulder

CHICKEN selections:
Chicken thigh

VEGETABLE selections:
Enoki mushroom

SEAFOOD selections:
Butterfish
Mussles
Prawn
Salmon
Scallop
Shishamo
Squid
Seafood platter (combination of all above)

To order, just tick the amount you wish to have and pass the order form to any staffs in ROCKU. All meat above comes in 3 servings for 1 order. E.g. If you put 1 for pork bacon, you will be served with 3 pieces of the bacon.

Other choices such as enoki mushroom, miso soup, rice, soba and udon on the other hand, will be 1 to 1 portion. E.g. If you put 1 for udon, you will be served with 1 bowl of udon.

All meats and seafood in ROCKU Yakiniku are grilled over charcoal, placed below a special design stove that brilliantly eliminates the smoke from grill through underground pipping system. No more feeling like “BBQ human” with bad smoky smell on your shirt. It is non-existent.

Besides grilling goodness, ROCKU Yakiniku Pavilion KL also provides cooked food like Japanese curry, chicken karaage, deep fried gyoza that diners can indulge in while waiting for raw meat to be ready.

Carb food such as spaghetti and fried rice are available too, but we don’t really bother much as it fills up the tummy very fast. Afterall, the main purpose of visiting ROCKU is their delicious grilled meat isn’t it?!

Tuck in appetizers such as potato salad, jellyfish and kimchi in between grilled meat, they help to tone down the greasiness. We especially love the kimchi, as its refreshing spiciness and sourness work well in balancing the meatiness of meat.

In short, ROCKU Yakiniku is definitely one of the best KL restaurants for eat-all-you-can Japanese Yakiniku. Value for price, premium meats, fresh seafood, and you can enjoy to live band singing while having your meal! Magic show is available at certain days too!
