[Bangkok 3D2N] Cafe Little Spoon, BTS Asok Bangkok : Smiley Latte in a Bowl

We were so determined to visit Little Spoon Cafe in Bangkok after reading some positive online reviews about this charming cafe. Located about 10 minutes walking from BTS Asok Station, reaching Little Spoon Cafe seemed to take forever due to the scorching hot weather, and we were sweating heavily when we finally reached.

How to go Little Spoon Cafe: Align at BTS Asok Station, Exit 3. Terminal 21 shopping center should be in front of you across the road. No road crossing needed. Just turn left after you got down from station Exit 3 and keep walking, Grand Millennium Hotel Bangkok should be on your right. Continue to walk for another 10 minutes. Before you turn into Sukhumvit 21 Soi 3, you should see a small shop sign of Cafe Little Spoon directing you to the cafe. It is located within a small, quiet alley.

Followed the sign and walked up.

Complains about the hot weather was thrown behind once we pushed the door into Cafe Little Spoon. Staffs greeted us with smiles, and we were welcomed with a scene of calm and tranquil. Lots of natural light showered in through ceiling-to-floor windows, walls painted in white, coupled with wooden furnishing and cushion in soft tone.

Further adorned with potted plants, books, framed pictures, mini dolls, and decor in “zakka” concept for a more homey, relaxing touch. We loved the whole table of wooden spoons, fork, tote bag, vintage mug, coaster, etc.. Perfect cafe for teatime and coffee with friends and loved ones.

Little Spoon Cafe goes on semi-self service, which means you have to proceed to the counter and place your order. Staffs will then send your food and beverage over once it is ready. Desserts, cakes, coffee, cold drinks, tea, homemade ice cream are the highlights on Little Spoon Cafe menu, with few savoury main courses for diners who seek for a more filling meal.

Everything seemed so alluring from Cafe Little Spoon Signature Chocolate Fondue to Strawberry Waffles, Cheesecake, Chocolate Molten Lava, Affogato, Ice Cream Crepe, White Chocolate Fondue, Earl Grey Ice Cream, scone, so on so on and so on~~ Summergirl felt like telling the staff: I want this this this, and that, oh ya, and this one as well thank you. Greedy in heart but since there were only two of us, we settled down for a Curry Chicken Katsu Rice, Matcha Affogato, and Latte in Bowl.

Latte in Bowl

Coffee is the must-have in Cafe Little Spoon. Summergirl went for Latte in Bowl (碗公咖啡), generally means hot latte served in a small white bowl, finished with cute smiley latte art.  Oh well, the smiley face is one of the reasons that drove Summergirl to visit. This simple art won her heart, but the coffee wasn’t shadowed too, velvety smooth throughout.

Matcha Affogato

A snowman, a chick or a bird? We had no idea but it looked so adorable. For affogato, diners can opt for matcha, coffee or chocolate. We tried out the matcha affogato and was surprisingly good. Not yet to mention it was photography-worthy from the moment it was served to us, till we poured the hot matcha over and indulge in.

Hot matcha melted down the ice cream, drawing a hot and cold + sweet and bitter balanced combination in the beginning. Ice cream continued to melt as we dig in, in the end we were drinking matcha with milky sweet liquid. Bitterness and aroma of matcha strongly developed in the palate, followed by very pale sweetness of melted ice cream. Still yums.

Curry Chicken Katsu Don

Curry Chicken Katsu Don was pretty decent, putting Japanese rice, chicken and a bed of rich, creamy curry together.

Will definitely come back again and have their ice cream with waffles. The must-go cafe if you happened to be in Bangkok Thailand.
