Festive buffet @ Majestic Hotel KL Contango & Banquet Hall

The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur opens its door to the public back in December 2012, and has then widely received attention from both local and international visitors. Apart from the iconic heritage buildings, 300 luxurious rooms and suites, there are two more popular places in Majestic Hotel – Contango and The Orchid Conservatory.

Contango Majestic Hotel KL is a restaurant that exudes modern contemporary design, with lunch and dinner buffet spread lined up for diners. The Orchid Conservatory of Majestic Hotel needs no further introduction, as it is famous enough for their afternoon high tea in orchid-blooming-botanical-garden-like cafe within a glass atrium. Other dining options in Majestic KL includes Colonial Cafe, The Tea Lounge, The Bar and The Smoke House.

This June and July, Majestic Hotel KL is offering festive buffet dinner promotions for diners to get together with friends, families and loved ones. There will be two locations for the buffets, which are Contango Restaurant and Majestic Tower 2, Function Hall Level 3.

Contango dinner buffet will run from 17th June 2015 till 18th July 2015, priced at RM125nett per person, while for Majestic Hotel function room banquet dinner, it is priced at RM100nett, available from 24th June 2015 to 12th July 2015. We sampled their Banquet Dinner, and have to say that RM100nett is really worth the price. Also, diners can receive a lunch gift certificate for 2 persons at Contango for bookings more than 50 persons made with Majestic Festive Banquet Dinner.

Begin with Malay appetizers like Kerabu Kerang Bersama Taugeh, Acar Jelatah Timun dan Nenas, Ikan Bilis Bersame Kacang Sambal, Popiah Basah and varieties of sambal. Serunding Ayam, Serunding Ikan and Serunding Daging with lemang are available too.

Warm up the tummy with Hot & Spicy Chinese Szechuan Soup, Bubur Lambuk Ayam and Sup Ekor before proceeding to main dishes.

Hot food selections cover Chinese, Malay and Indian delicacies, alongside with special live station that churn out fresh, pipping hot delights.

Malay choices in Majestic KL buffet cover Ayam Goreng Berempah, Dendang Daging, Telur Dadar, Nasi Briyani, Kari Ikan dengan Tomato, Pajeri Kedondong, Masak Lemak Siput Sedut, Sambal Udang Petai, Sayur Lemak Pucuk Manis, Ikan Talapia Merah Goreng Berlado.

For Chinese selections, pick up Loh Hon Chai Chinese Mixed Vegetables, Sweet & Sour Fish and Fried Beancurd with Dried Shrimp. Continue to enjoy more meaty goodness like Roasted Lamb marinated with Middle Eastern Influenced Dry Rub, Beef Satay and Chicken Satay section.

We loved the murtabak from live station. Thin, slightly crisp layer of Roti enveloping flavourful, juicy egg and meat fillings. Must try, and is one of the best Murtabak comparing to some of the special festival buffet we tried out in PJ and KL.

Save some room for dessert! One of the friends mentioned that Penget Pisang Malay Sweet Soup is noteworthy, not overly sweet, good amount of creaminess and most importantly, the sliced banana is not overripe. Malay Nyonya Kuih, Bubur Kacang Hijau, Apple Crumble, Bread and Butter Pudding are some of the sweet treat to check out on their dessert counter.
