llao llao frozen yogurt ice cream, now available in Malaysia at Mid Valley Megamall and Pavilion KL branch. Expensive price, but have to admit that it tastes really good.
The hype for froyo, or frozen yogurt ice cream is back in town with Spanish most famous frozen yogurt brand – llao llao (pronounced as yow-yow or yao-yao) landed in Kuala Lumpur, about two months ago. Healthier dessert comparing to normal ice cream, seeing that it has natural yogurt as the base ingredient.
The concept for llao llao is similar to many other ice cream shop- you queue, order for desired frozen yogurt cup size or special items, topped off with colourful ingredients and proceed for payment. We were in Mid Valley KL last week, reaching for a medium size cup at RM14.90, came with three toppings. Other sizes are small + 1 topping (RM10.90), big + 3 toppings (RM18.90).
More than 10 topping selections, including cubed fruits -strawberries, melon, watermelon, kiwi, mango, grape, dragon fruit, banana; dried fruits & nuts – black chocolate peanuts, white chocolate peanuts, caramelized sunflower seeds, almond brittle, dried cranberries; chocolate biscuits – oreo, filipino white chocolate biscuit, Nestle crunch; and muesli with chocolate. For sauces, opt for fruit of the forest sauce, black chocolate sauce, raffallao sauce, chocorock sauce, lotus caramelized biscuit sauce, white chocolate sauce.
In case you want to skip choosing any toppings, suggest to go for llao llao signature frozen yogurt ice cream, called SANUM Frozen Yougurt. A plastic cup filled with one layer of froyo at the bottom, followed by 2 crunchy biscuits, 3 fresh fruits, continues with another layer of frozen yogurt, finally drizzled with sauce of your choice. Bigger size, plenty of textures, more valuable too.
Other selections on llao llao menu covers Sensations (RM15.90)- watermelon, yougurt or orange ice crush drink + frozen yogurt + sauce + fresh fruits; Granillao (RM6.90 for small, RM9.90 for medium) – Yougurt with orange, lemon, watermelon. Petitllao was not available during our visit. It is just a petite size llao llao original frozen yogurt at RM4.90.
Speaking about returning to llao llao? definitely yes as it is quite nice, healthy option for sweet treat, made with quality ingredients. But not so often, seeing that this frozen yogurt is quite pricey.
