Shell Out Seafood Restaurant, Kota Damansara: Seafood Louisiana Boil

March 5, 2016 by summerkid_summergirl

Shell Out Seafood Restaurant

Visited Shell Out Malaysia at Kota Damansara PJ again after two years. Still crowded, still reasonable price, still the good old items on menu, but flourished with new flavours for more enjoyable Louisiana boil seafood feast.

Meat Crab with Shell Bang Sauce, Medium spicy, Add-on Potato, Sausage and Corn
Complete the 4-steps easy ordering process and get ready to have your hands dirty.

Step 1: choose your seafood -crab, king prawn, crawfish, clam, green mussel, giant scallop, bamboo clam, octopus, Canadian lobster and king crab legs).

Step 2: Pick the sauce- lemon pepper, butter garlic, shell bang, black pepper, curry curry in Malaysia style or Original style. Asking what is the difference between Malaysia and Original style, we were told that original version is heavier, deeper in flavour while for Malaysia style, the flavours are tuned lighter to cater general tastebuds. No sauce option is available too.

Step 3: Spice up your sauce by adding some spicy kick! Choose from Mild, Medium and OMG. We tried out all 3 in our seafood and glad to say that spiciness are within the range we can handle! Staff told us that you can “add on” the spicy level beyond OMG if you wish too. Suggest to go according to your liking but just, not too spicy until nature sweetness of seafood get overwhelmed.

Step 4: Get your seafood a company. Munching on only seafood can be boring for some. So continue with a choice of broccoli, corn on cob potato or sausage, get them to toss with your seafood, soaking up the great taste of sauce.

Shell Out Seafood Restaurant crab

King Prawn with Butter Garlic Sauce, Mild Spicy
Butter Garlic Sauce is new flavour added into the menu Step 2. Currently our favourite in Shell Out Malaysia. A touch of butter smoothness over prawns, together with faint hints of garlicky goodness.

Shell Out Seafood Restaurant clam

Clam with Lemon Pepper Sauce, Medium Spicy
Our second favourite goes to Clam with Lemon Pepper Sauce in Medium Spiciness. Spiciness level is considered mild to us, but what we love about this sauce in the tinge of sourness developed in our palate as we munch through our clams, leading to a sudden refreshing inter layering with pepper-chilli spicy sensation .

Shell Out Seafood Restaurant green mussel

Green Mussel with Black Pepper Sauce, Medium Spicy
Black Pepper Sauce is a bit too heavy for us, but great to douse the sauce with a bowl of white rice.

Shell Out Seafood Restaurant giant scallop

Giant Scallop with Butter Garlic Sauce, OMG Spicy
At first, we were all-ready to tuck in Giant Scallop with Butter OMG Spicy Sauce, expecting to get hands-down in OMG screaming, red burning tongue but surprisingly, the spiciness were fine for us. Like normal chilli sambal. Adventurous diners may request for extra one and two levels of spiciness.

Silver Pomfret RM16.90
Cute, mini silver pomfret deep fried to golden crispy throughout. Fun snack to share with friends while waiting for your Louisiana Boil Seafood to arrive.

Shell Out Seafood Restaurant super dried

Super Fried
You will get bits of everything for famous appetizers in Shell Out – Potato Wedges, Sweet Potato Fries, Onion Rings and Baby Crab. Still, sweet potato fries appears as our choice of winner. Not bad, just better if could be less oily.
