Burger & Sushi at G-Village, G Residence KL – We have been eyeing on this new restaurant every single day for three weeks. Their huge shop signage lit up in bright orange can really attract passers by to walk in. At least, it work on us. LOL.
It was raining heavily last Friday. So we decided to stay away from the heavy traffic in KL city and had our dinner at restaurant nearby. There goes our dinner at Burger & Sushi, anticipated to find out whether Burger & Sushi menu will list down only burger and sushi, or beyond, or merely a gimmicky name where the restaurant doesn’t serves burger and sushi at all.
Chicken Katsu Burger RM18.80
Our initial guessing on Burger & Sushi concept doesn’t go too wrong though – modern Japanese with Western touch. “Burger” signifying Western cuisine while for “Sushi”, well represents Japanese food of course. Wide selections with over 100 items, ranging from burgers, salad, soup to hot plate, noodles, donburi, teppanyaki, sushi roll and sashimi.
Since there was just two of us and we didn’t feel like having any Japanese sushi roll, we kept our choice on the safe side by ordering Chicken Katsu Burger and Tempura Prawn Udon. The burger was OK but not much surprise, layering crispy breaded chicken with cheese, vege and mayonaise between two buttered bun.
Was expecting fresh cut potato fries but what served seemed more like French fries bought from the frozen section in supermarket. We were recommended to try B&S Burger the next time, as it is their signature burger with chargrilled, handmade Australian beef patty.
Tempura Prawn Udon RM25
Tempura Prawn Udon was on the better side, just right for the rainy day with sips of pipping hot, tummy warming soup. Other noodle selections include Chicken Udon, Kitsune Udon, Beef Udon, Inaniwa Udon, Zaru Soba, Ten Zaru Soba, Cha Zaru Soba and Nabeyaki Udon.
In short, a decent restaurant for Japanese meal with reasonable price, friendly service. Not going to comment too much as we tried out only 2 items out of over 100 choices from Burger & Sushi Menu. Heard that Japanese Curry Rice, Unagi Chilli Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and Beef Steak received good reviews too. Will check them out in coming visit.
