Arietta Hotel Osaka: Convenient Hotel Near Train Station

Arietta Hotel Osaka at Honmachi station ( subway Midosuji-line ) appears more like a business hotel, considering its location. However, for travellers looking for accommodation less centralized with tourists but still strategic, near to subway train station and reasonable in price, Arietta Hotel fits in well.

We never thought of staying in a hotel near to Honmachi station initially, as this area seems less popular comparing to Shinsaibashi, Namba, Umeda, JR Osaka station. But we were too late in searching for a hotel – less than one month from our departure date. Standard rooms in famous hotels were either fully booked, or turned expensive per night ( >RM500 per day).

We became so gen jiong to know Where to stay in Osaka, Where to find cheap hotels in Osaka. Finally came across Arietta Hotel Osaka under the Renaissance group. Most comments for Arietta in Tripadvisor are positive, 5% for the not-so-good. Hence we guess this is a pretty safe hotel to stay in, though not much reviews we could find from blogs.

Subway station nearest to Arietta Hotel is Honmachi, which is 1 stop away from bustle Shinsaibashi, 2 stops from Umeda – JR Osaka city. Honmanchi falls on intersection of 3 subway lines – Yotsubashi Line, Chuo Line and Midosuji Line. Quite convenient to access many of the tourist attractions in Osaka.

Arietta Hotel Osaka is just 3 minutes walking distance from Honmachi exit 1 and exit 3. We always used exit 1, turn left and walk straight for like 300m and it will be on your right. Some mentioned they have difficulties tracking down the hotels. We were quite worried at first too, as the station has over 10 exits. Make sure to check out the correct exit to avoid walking extra miles. The only disadvantage is there is no escalator, we had to carry our heavy luggage on the first and last day. #carrydieus

The hotel doesn’t has the hype of cutting-edge, stylish design with bold colours, nor black and white theme that create space, etc., just humble country-side style with warmth welcome from receptionist once we pushed the door in. Check-it was hassle free, with introduction of mini breakfast every morning in the lobby, vending machines + washing machines room on level 8, and have to pass our room key to them every time we go out.

Jiang Jiang! This is our room for 3 nights! Glad that it was much bigger than we thought of. Some said that Japan business hotels’ room are super tiny, small and all that but Arietta Hotel superior room is quite OK to us. We gave it a 4-star even though it is rated as 3-stars budget hotel.

Wooden floorings, with furnishing of the similar tone. Queen size bed, just nice for petites like us. Very comfortable bed that allowed us to fall into deep sleep every day. Surroundings are quiet most of the time, no noise heard from other rooms. Generally nothing much surprise, but well maintained, ideal for short holidays or business trips.

One thing we loved about our room – that bathroom! So huge!  It occupies almost half of the room ‘s area. LOL. Well-equipped with towels, bath tub, shower mixer taps, shampoo, bath gel, conditioner, tooth brush & toothpaste. They even provide body wash towel which is gentle to the skin, generates lots of foamy bubbles too! We used one and brought home the rest. LOL.

Television screen was…erm…small. But we didn’t bother much. As usual, there’s also green tea and heater to boil water.

Vending machine for drinks, ice cubes machine and self-service washing machines near to our room.

A lot of eatery around the hotels too, including izakaya restaurants, bars, cafes with value set lunch. Most of them had already closed by the time we back at night. The only place we stopped by was 24-hours convenient store called AEON Mini Stop by AEON, for bread, instant cup noodles, snacks and beers.

We managed to find an Izakaya restaurant still opened at 11PM one Sunday night. Walked in for late dinner and was surprised that food was delicious, paired with refreshing, smooth Kirin beer. Friendly service too.

Arietta Hotel Osaka is situated at the end of Shinsaibashi, which you can actually walk. We did check on Google map and it showed 1.3KM, with location of Glico Man Sign Dotonburi as the starting point. However, we were super exhausted by that time, plus it was already late. Afraid that we would lost our way back hotel, we chose to take subway instead.

Our 4D3N stay in Arietta Hotel came to a total of RM1269 ( ~USD105 per night ). Not cheap but that’s the price to pay for late booking. Overall, Summergirl likes the hotel but Summerkid said the area was too quiet for him, always “Boh Lang” and “Sien” ( no trace of “human” on road, especially at night)

Advantages:
1. Very close to Honmachi subway station (Midosuji Line)
2. Quiet area but within walking distance to Shinsaibashi
3. 24 hours convenient store across the road
4. Reasonable price
5. Comfortable, well-maintained room. Large bathroom with bathtub
6. Complimentary breakfast buffet (bread, salad, milk, coffee and fruits ) is included with room price
7. Strategic – 2 km from Shinsaibashi shopping district, 4 km from 5-story landmark Osaka Castle and 12 km from Universal Studios Japan theme park

Disadvantages:
1. No escalator for Subway Station exits nearest to hotel
2. Most restaurants are closed at night
