ParaThai Glo Damansara KL: Authentic Thai Cuisine Restaurant

August 10, 2016 by summerkid_summergirl

ParaThai Thai Cuisine Restaurant ventures into Glo Damansara last June, flourishes the space with aroma of fresh herbs and spices in a modern, artistic dining ambience. A good news to us, as we do not have to go all the way from Kuala Lumpur city centre to ParaThai KLIA Mitsui Outlet Park for a taste of their Thai food.

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Run by the team behind Paradise group, who has earned their reputation in Singapore, Malaysia, China and few other countries with the infamous 8 colours xiao long pao, we believe ParaThai can churn out food that is as delicious as Paradise Inn and Paradise Dynasty too. The menu boasts over 80 types of Thai dishes in reasonable price, beautifully concocted using authentic recipes.

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Mieng Kam RM20.90+
Visited the place last week for dinner, started with traditional Thai snack Mieng Kam. Shallots, toasted peanuts, limes, dried shrimp, chili, coconut flakes, ginger and shrimp paste sauce – put a bit of all these 8 condiments on betel leaf, fold up and pop into the mouth. Nutty, sweet, spicy, salty, tart – plenty of flavours in one go. Sometimes we do wonder how these ingredients can come to be such a good combination, and addictive.

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Gai Hor Bai Tuey/ Homemade Pandan Leaf Chicken 4 piece RM18.90+.

One of our favourite dishes of the night. Chicken meat is deeply marinated, tender and full of flavours in every bite. We were told that chef marinates and wraps those chicken witth pandan leaves daily. If you visited ParaThai in group, make sure to order 2 plates or more because 1 piece per pax is definitely not enough! So yummy!

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Geang Keow Wan Gai / Thai Green Curry Chicken RM18.90+

Rich and thick gravy, with short spicy aftertaste, Geang Keow Wan Gai is generally hard to go wrong with, always best with a bowl of rice.

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Goong Ob Wan San/ Baked Ming Prawns with Glass Noodles in Claypot RM33.90

Even though pad thai is always our first choice for Thai noodle selections, at times we do enjoy tucking into Thai style noodles cooked in claypot, soaked up with sweetness from prawns. ParaThai version of Goong Ob Wan San is alright, better if they could go lighter on the amount of salt.

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Tom Yum Talay/ Fire Pot Tom Yum Soup with Seafood RM63.90+

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

A Thai meal is incomplete without an order of Tom Yum Soup. ParaThai offers red and clear base, in a choice of chicken, prawns or seafood. 3 serving size – per pax, for 2 or for 4. Our Tom Yum Soup for 4 pax is served in a fire pot, generously filled with fish fillet, prawns, mushrooms, squid.

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Tom Yam Talay / Tom Yum Soup with Seafood (Clear base) RM16.90+

Add on individual bowl of Clear Tom Yum Soup with Seafood, as we were too greedy to try out two flavours LOL. While the red is more pronounced in spiciness, the clear soup version has a good balance of spicy and sourness, lighter in taste. Both on manageable spicy level.

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Pla Ka Phong Pow Kieaw / Salted Baked Talapia in BBQ Style RM46.90+

The clear winner! Everybody loved this Salt Baked Talapia. Very soft fish meat, packed with juiciness. It is freshly baked upon order, but definitely worth the 20 minutes waiting time. Must have!

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Pla Muk Yang / Grilled Squid in BBQ Style RM28.90+

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Stir Fried Minced Chicken with Basil Leaves Set Lunch RM18.90/chicken, RM19.90/ beef

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Lunch for office crowds in the vicinity of Glo Damansara is now merrier with the launch of ParaThai Value Set Lunch, starting from only RM18.90+ per set. Each set is complete with fragrant rice, sunny side up, main course, appetizer of the day (Thai Style Spring Roll or Homemade Thai Fish Cake) and a glass of green tea.

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Thai Red Curry Chicken Value Set Lunch RM18.90/chicken, RM19.90/ beef

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Traditional Tom Yum Soup, Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken/ Seafood, Thai Green Curry, Stir Fried Minced Meat, Thai Red Curry are options to choose from.  We suggest Thai Red Curry Lunch Set.

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Tab Tim Krob /Red Ruby served with Jackfruit and Coconut Milk RM9.90+

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Kaow Neow Ma Muang / Mango stick rice served with coconut milk RM13.90+

And so one of our friends said: Every meal must end with dessert. Fully agree. No matter how full we are, there’s always room for sweet treat. ParaThai covers few of the signature Thai dessert that we are familiar with, including Mango Sticky Rice, Sweet Steamed Tapioca, Honeydew Sago, and Tab Tim Krob.

We sampled 3 and loved Mango Sticky Rice the most. Rice is warmth, cooked to the right chewiness, pairing well with sweet mango and rich coconuty from coconut milk. But of course, for diners looking for more refreshing treat, Tab Tim Krob and Sago Cantalup are equally great.

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Coconut Iced Blended RM15.90+

ParaThai Glo Damansara KL

Lychee Mint Blended RM14.90+

We gave a skip to our usual order of Thai Iced Tea, Thai Iced Coffee, Thai Iced Green Tea and Iced Lemongrass to go for ParaThai Special House Blend – Coconut Iced Blended, Lychee Mint Blended, Muay  Thai Punch Smoothie. No regret ordering them, really nice as recommended.

Overall review: ParaThai in Glo Damansara is definitely worth a visit, despite its location in a new area which is not fully opened yet. Pandan Chicken, Salt Baked Fish and Lychee Mint Blended are must-try.
