KONCENT Malaysia @ SunwayMas PJ: Japan Design Shop & Cafe

KONCENT Malaysia, a Tokyo based retail store has quietly emerged in SunwayMas Commercial Centre, Petaling Jaya, putting together a good collection of creative homewares, decorative items, and functional products that put consumers in Wow.

+d, Soil, Tidy, I’mD, Takumi, hmny & hmny, EaToco, Maruai, Marusa Balloon, @Aroma, Takaokaya, Chikuno Cube, Tetote, Ornament, Shibaful and some of the brands you can look forward to in KONCENT, exploring these physical items and purchase offline, if you wish too. Price wise, doesn’t come cheap considering they are innovative designer brands with high quality.

From the +d Kaki vase that can make your plants “grow in mid air” to HACOA magnetic wall clock that turn your plain wall into refined, elegant look; SOIL coaster made from diatomaceous earth and Cao Maru face shape stress balls, honestly, we love all these cool designs displayed on KONCENT shelves.

Japanese Green Tea RM15

While our pockets don’t hold enough bulks to purchase any of these quirky and fun products, it is still worth switching our attention to the mini cafe resides in KONCENT SunwayMas. Enjoy coffee and Japanese tea, with awesome cakes supplied by Tray Cafe in Sri Hartamas KL. Not a cafe with full-fledge menu, but stays humble to create a relax space for visitors.

Nutella Chocolate Cake RM13

Thought of ordering Olive Oil Passion Fruit Bundt but it wasn’t in stock during our visit. Settle down for Nutella Chocolate Cake, and a pot of Japanese green tea. The dessert didn’t disappoint. Dense layer of chocolate cake, sectioned by thick, rich frosting.

Overall review: Not too sure we should categorize this place as a cafe or retail shop, so just both will do hahaha. Service is super friendly, staffs are attentive in answering questions. Great thing is photography is allowed in KONCENT, no need hide here hide there to take pictures LOL. But a visit to this place make us miss Japan more now. >_<
