Suukee Coffee @ Yau Hau Fook SS2: Teluk Intan Mee Rebus

September 3, 2016 by summerkid_summergirl

Suukee Coffee at Restoran Yau Hau Fook SS2 PJ (same row with Yuan Garden Dim Sum Restaurant, behind Tang Pin Kitchen) serves delicious Teluk Intan Mee Rebus.

Teluk Intan Mee Rebus – We are not too sure if any of the kopitiam, food court or hawker stalls in KL and PJ serves this, but at least we didn’t try out any before in KL until we came across Suukee Coffee Mee Rebus at Yau Hau Fook Restaurant, SS2 Petaling Jaya.

We get to know about this place by word of mouth, and Summergirl, the Teluk Intan girl insists to try it out on the same week. The stall shares the same premise with Yau Hau Fook 有口福小食舘, a restaurant that dish out home-cook food such as Thai Style Tofu, Rice Win Chicken, Yam Steam Pork, Fried Chicken Homemade Meat Balls, Sweet & Sour Pork, and Stir Fried Prawn with Belacan, just to name a few.

Suukee Coffee used to be at the same row with Tang Pin Kitchen, the mee pok specialist. It has now moved to one street behind, from SS2/24 to SS2/30, which is same row with Yuen Garden Dim Sum Restaurant. Didn’t realize the famous dim sum shop from Puchong has branched out in SS2.

Mee Rebus RM7 (add RM2.50 for sotong)

Mee Rebus, Curry Laksa, Dry Curry Noodle, Nasi Lemak, Hainanese Bread with Kaya & Butter, Half Boiled Egg, Curry Chicken are the only food on Suukee Coffee menu, all priced within RM10. What raise our attention is they are still using the yellow colour half boiled egg cooker, the “magic tool” to get beautiful bun sang sok dan.

The must try – Mee Rebus, Teluk Intan style. A bed of rich, thick potato-based gravy gracefully dressed over yellow noodles, topped with bean sprouts, halved hard boiled egg, boiled potatoes, fried onions, tofu, sprinkled with chopped celery and chilli. Laborious process to prepare the soup but chef, who hails from Teluk Intan, takes up the effort and extra time to make it tastes really close to what we have back in Teluk Intan. Summergirl loves every bit of this mee rebus, saying that she can finally get a taste of home town. *clap hands*

Curry Laksa RM8

Suukee Coffee Yau Hau Fook SS2

A bowl of curry laksa at RM8 is not cheap but look at those thick cut gorgeous roasted pork, it definitely worth the price you pay for. Taste wise, Suukee Coffee curry mee is different from KL curry laksa or Penang curry, again, towards Teluk Intan style. Laden with coconut milk, mild spiciness with subtle sourness and herbs aroma. Garnished with bean sprouts, fresh mint leaves, long beans and tofu pok soaked up with flavours of curry. Available only on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

We were told that Suu kee uses coffee powder from Teluk Intan too. Not the best but at least, pretty good comparing to the many weak kopi in KL kopitiam. The family also have a shop in Teluk Intan itself, which is located at Jalan Laksamana, next to bomba station.
